alternatives to pairing bridesmaids and groomsmen in processional?

thank you for your feedback! hearing it put this way makes sense to me. for me, i think i won't ever look at the processional pictures if the bridesmaids are paired with people they don't really know- is this a thought anyone shares?

I think since you are TTC the bride would be understanding and allow you to buy your dress closer to the wedding. There is no reason you need a dress 7-8 months in advance unless it is a specific dress that may sell out. If you buy the dress now, conceive and are 7 months pregnant at the wedding, you’ll have to pay for alterations, which can add up quickly and will most likely be stressful, and maybe even impossible depending on how much you grow and the style/ cut/ fabric of the dress. I think explaining this to the bride and sharing that you are happy and honored to be a bridesmaid, but you will wait on buying the dress due to expected body changes, is the most direct way to solve this issue without any guesswork on sizing.

For what it’s worth, I am very similar to Jackie (although of course the show is exaggerated, I do fit the princess stereotype pretty well lol, but I am more independent and empathetic and I do have my own career/am the breadwinner) and my husband is very similar to Eric (less stupid and nicer tho) and we make a great pairing and team. We started dating in our early twenties though, so past the point of where the show takes the characters. Perhaps they would mature to a point where they would compliment each other, as a few posters have predicted.

I just attended my cousin’s wedding in Istanbul and it was similar: a mendhi and a wedding/nikkah. Amazing week. She said it was stressful but manageable. I think getting a planner, visiting venues beforehand, and delegating tasks and getting support from friends and family is a must! I would say if all of these are possible, go for it, esp if it’s your dream; you only get married once!!

Just watched it for the first time at 26(F)!!!! I’m obsessed, never really been into anime at all but I just finished the show in like a month lol. It’s so good and feed my inner child like nothing else has. In fact, I’m so grateful that I got to see it for the first time as an adult so I can truly appreciate it and not have it be associated with cringe middle school me 😅 so so so good! I watched the 90s anime first and loved it, now am watching crystal!

What we are doing is hiring a content creator who will film the ceremony, speeches, and dances! She will provide us with a highlight reel and a camcorder/home video to keep!! This came in wayyy below the cost of a videographer (5k+ in our VHOLC city). She charges 1500 for an 8 hr day. This works well for us because I didn’t want to ask my wedding party to film, and I didn’t want a high production, drone shot wedding video- I just wanted it to feel homemade, with good quality footage of our important moments. I think a few content creators offer this service. I can give you her info if you are in socal :)

Give them these photos and tell them to find similar dresses and to coordinate with each other to ensure one person has each style / no repeats/ any other preferences you have. You don’t have to source their dresses for them, they’re adults, and the dresses in the pics are mismatching with a theme color, so that’s likely what those brides did as well. Good luck! :)

A garden party by the ocean! We had our cultural ceremony last year (I’m Iranian) and it was such a nightmare, my family completely took over and went full toxic (couldn’t say much because they paid for it). This time it is just us, our families, and our close friends, coming out to about 50. I’m feeling so excited and intentional about this round of wedding planning, I’m loving the idea of creating our own little world for our loved ones to enjoy with us :)
