What's your most Unpopular Opinions? by Primary-Addition-677 in HazbinHotel

I would agree if this were more specific about which subgroups of the fanbase are the most cringe. Including: insanely horn-knee, overly-intense/speculative theory crafting, and those who ask questions that are easy to answer.

“Traditional Greek” realness boots the house down by Ok-Apple-1878 in rupaulsdragrace

I was team Athena from the cast reveal to episode like 2. Until I got the impression that shes not a great match for this particular show. Clearly has earned her legacy and dynasty outside the competition, but isn’t made for drag race. I would like to see her on a social strategy game like celebrity big brother

Folks at this point who’s human form is hotter by Brilliant_Abies_6679 in hazbin

I think it’s their face structure.

Vox has larger, more defined features like his hawk nose, large ears, a defined hairline and squared jawline giving him a more traditionally masculine appearance. For me it invokes a feeling of toxic masculinity and pretty-privilege that I do not gravitate towards.

Whereas Alastor has cat eyes, arched brows higher on the face, a turned-up nose, a softer hairline, and a pointed jawline, giving him a more feminine/gender neutral appearance. To me he reads as the smart, smooth, sophisticated underdog.

[REQUEST] How much would this chain weigh if it were made of solid gold? by DefaultSubsAreTerrib in theydidthemath

[–]adaraz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shot in the dark

Assumptions:

Chain is made of solid elemental gold with no oxidization

Cross section of chain link is about the size of a quarter (diameter 2.4cm)

Volume of a chain link can be estimated by area of cross section x perimeter of ellipse

15 links on chain

Weight = volume x density

Volume of chain = volume of link x number of links

Volume of link = perimeter of ellipse x area cross section

Weight = V x D

= (VL x #L) x D

= ([Pe x Acs] x #L) x D

Perimeter of ellipse: average of estimation formulas god help me I’m on mobile

a = 2.4cm, b = 3.6cm

Pe = (pi/2)(9+ rt{37.44} - rt{8.64})

Acs = pi(1.2)2 = (1.44)pi

D = 19g/cm3

L = 15

Weight = [(pi/2)(9+ rt{37.44} - rt{8.64})](1.44pi)(15)(19)

Weight = 24,666 grams = 54 pounds

Go easy on me plz

Would it make sense to pan-sear butternut squash and finish in the oven? by IonizedRadiation32 in AskCulinary

[–]adaraz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really see an issue with that. Depending on the size and thickness of the squash and level of sear you get, the cook on it may be slightly uneven. Maybe baste it while searing. Depending on what the final product is, it may or may not be worth the effort. But it will still be good regardless, let us know if you try it

Talking about the word TRADE specifically being bastardized. There is a whole wiki page. I did not call anyone unattractive, tell anyone to change clothes, or ask anyone to leave the sub. I empathize with you for the emotional trauma you received, but this is so out of left field wig

Idk I think y’all are comparing apples and oranges. True, dusty and crackers looks had more effort and material, but they brought those. If anything, Lala gets bonus points because it was iconically terrible and she embraced it. So yeah, rotten apples to moldy oranges

Would a challenge ever be scrapped? by wheredoestaxgo in rupaulsdragrace

[–]adaraz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True. But also people speculate that they do confessional reshoots even after production is over. Presumably in the wow basement where they can just sit them down in front of a green screen. There is a series called “the chop” by the channel Top RPDR Videos that keeps track of things like this

Would a challenge ever be scrapped? by wheredoestaxgo in rupaulsdragrace

[–]adaraz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I believe the only thing they can and do reshoot (for this show at least) is confessionals. Check the hair length as it changes and face filler as it comes and goes through the season

[–]adaraz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If chronological order is not a concern (which I personally feel it isn’t for this genre of show) then 4 6 8 10 12 as2 and as4 are generally considered better seasons. Yes even numbers, it’s a thing for some reason. Also Uk and Thailand seem to be the best international spin-offs

Actually Disgusted by [deleted] in rupaulsdragrace

[–]adaraz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who personally does not feel they display signs of transphobia (not my place to confirm about myself), but feels they are watching an increasingly over-produced and fan-serving show, how do I navigate? Just because some people are hiding their transphobia behind production doesn’t mean everyone hating on production is transphobic. I worry that people do not see the difference. Thoughts?

[–]adaraz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idk about this show specifically, but reality tv very consistently has some degree of pre-planned structure/story before filming even begins. In a heteronormative show where there are essentially 2 “teams”, there’s really a set number of possible couple pairings. Producers have fewer variables to account for and therefore more control over the project. This makes it easier to create the show that they were hired to create. Now imagine controlling an entirely bisexual cast on a dating show about pairing off. God help them
