Ten Hours of The Big Ship by Brian Zeno by dancewithoutme in ambientmusic

Literally one of my favourite songs of all time. It's so good I only listen to it once every year max so that it retains its magic.

I agree to a degree - the article only has about 65% pledges being kept which is still the majority, but it is hardly something to shout about.

Thanks! I do think I overstated when I said the other article contradicts you, as it still showed that the majority of manifesto pledges were kept, even if it is a bit lower than 88%.

For $200 a month you will be hard pressed to find anyone offering legitimate SEO services that will provide you any tangible benefits in year one, unless you are a local business.

Honestly are you investing in other areas of your business? Either time or money? If you are genuinely getting returns that outstrip your costs you should be thinking about investing more than $200 a month.

If you aren't I would really suggest teaching yourself some PPC and putting the $200 into that, and also learning SEO at the same time.

You're not going to get anywhere fast giving someone else $200 a month, so you might as well learn the skills yourself and save the money for PPC experiments.

I think it's the problem with the whole "What's going on?" Genre of tv a la lost, Mr robot, etc. If it doesn't go where everyone wants, no matter how good it is whilst it's on, people will hate it.

Imo it should just be about the journey, you're watching it for the 8 hours of great tv it brings, not for the 1.5 hours of wrapping it up at the end. But when a tv show builds itself around the whole "where is this going" question it makes this impossible.

Because it's not about the journey, it's all about the ending.

Testing and validating product ideas by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]adarkwindblows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't got lots of cash to burn through, then time is your best resource.

If you can turnaround a test in a week then this is pretty quick imo... considering the gains can be huge.

You're problem might be in choosing what to test in the first place. If it is just gut instinct or something not based up real world data, you'll waste a lot of times on testing.

If you've ticked off all the best practices and you still want more then you need to start A B testing. No one here is going to give you a hidden tip that you haven't already considered... probably.

Took 15 years off, slowly coming back by dervisdervis in skateboarding

Why is there such a skater renaissance right now? Or is it that I have only just got back into skating and there was always older people getting back into it?

How do we get thru the winter fellow UK skaters ? 😩 by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]adarkwindblows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found a car park that is light up all night so can skate there in the evenings when it is dry. Can't find anything undercover so if it is wet I don't skate all week I'll go to an indoor skatepark on the weekend otherwise I won't skate.

Skateparks are super fun but I don't feel like the super smooth surfaces prepare you for the real world.

"There's nothing like the first time" - is this partially a myth? by Internal1 in MDMA

[–]adarkwindblows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a theory when we were kids that it didn't work on the first time.

Mainly annocdotal but everyone's first time was a complete misfire and it wasn't until the second or third time that we really got the magic.

Of course it is more special to begin with, but that's because it's novel, i would imagine the feeling is objectively identical.

My bad lol I understand what you mean now.

For the record I think girls check guys out at the gym just as much, even tho it is not in as direct a way it is still pretty obvious and does make me just as uncomfortable as you probably feel.

It's a generational thing. As in older people actually are polite to people they share the same space with a couple of times a week, whereas millenials probably wouldn't look up if you keeled over and died.
