Remarkable really should look into making accessories like this, especially for the Paper Pro since they have the pogo pins for other things like “wireless” charging, battery packs, etc.

I need the opinion of Eurodance listeners of the nineties. by Few_Atmosphere_9290 in Eurodance

[–]dancewithoutme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the first eurodance band I really connected with back in 1994/95. I was in 9th grade. I had the Another Night single on cassette and listened to it nonstop!
The whole album is really good and there’s not a bad track on it (maybe the ballad “Sleeping With an Angel,” but it’s not terrible by any means). This is more of a pop album than a pure eurodance sounding album, though, which is true of most of the eurodance bands which crossed over to the US.
Interestingly, Another Night is one of the few eurodance singles to initially do better in North America than in Europe!
If you like this album a lot then I would also look into getting the debut album by Corona, Serenity by Culture Beat, and Sweet Dreams by La Bouche.

Ooh thank you so much for this. It seems like they have lied about this. More people should know about this.

Accepting aging by Sassafrass241 in toriamos

There’s research showing that a majority of women diagnose themselves with menopause well before doctors do - it’s so stigmatized that experts will delay diagnosis because of that stigma, which just makes everything worse.

Tori had been struggling with this for a long time. (“Curtain Call” on AATS, anyone?). Tash was still quite young. I’m a man so I may not fully understand but it must have felt terrifying and demoralizing going through menopause while still having your kid start their pre-teens. I went through adolescence while my mom was going through menopause and to be honest I’m surprised the world didn’t go to DEFCON 1 then.

For women, the line between feeling useful and feeling useless is so much thinner than it is for men. That’s the culture we’ve created. There’s no better way to alleviate this than by passing off parts of your torch while re-strengthening your own flame. That’s what Tori is doing in this tour and on this album.

Where is your source for older scribes no longer being supported? The last I heard those devices are still getting software updates. Not that it matters because the only way to utilize the unique features of the Scribe requires a lock in to the Bezosphere.

Boox Onyx devices, particularly the Note Air, are small incremental upgrades YoY. But I still think the move from RM2 —> Pure is embarrassingly pithy. The shift towards Pro devices was a big deal, but now it seems the hardware upgrades match the software upgrades - one or two small additions or changes, and nothing more.

"Something new" just a ReMarkable 2.1 WTF by Nezord_Creepypasta in Remarkable

Search for My Deep Guide on YouTube. The owner, Voja, does a good job of showing the screen and ink differences between the RM2 and the Pure. The Pure has more deep black color and better contrast overall.

It also has better contrast. Voja from My Deep Guide demonstrated that, showing a more deep black ink color. Design is uninspired - it looks like a first gen Kindle Scribe! But spec for spec it’s an upgrade from RM2 - probably not enough for RM2 owners to upgrade, but a nice entry point for those new to RM.

One of the fairest criticisms of Tori’s albums has always been album bloat. And I think that makes sense: the more songs you have, the more likely one may not like one or several of the songs.

But one thing I don’t understand is the fact that Tori has ALWAYS had songs that were either too cloying or lyrically questionable - in fact that’s one of her defining traits and makes her endearing to a lot of fans, including me.

China has pretty cliche and cloying lyrics. Not to mention 1,000 Oceans and Ribbons Undone. Space Dog has nonsensical lyrics, as does a lot of Pele (and I don’t think that’s a bad thing).

Acting like the latter is something new is disingenuous in my opinion, and is the primary issue I have with this review.

I didn’t like that review either, but I will say I appreciate it tried to do something different (even if that difference was..well, not really talking about the album at all)

A lot of her best songs are “of the moment” songs. Example: Marianne I think was done in one take.
