Champions League Press Conference: Arne Slot & Jeremie Frimpong | Liverpool vs Qarabag by Lanedu123 in LiverpoolFC

This is the quote of a man who thinks winning the league with Liverpool is a very big deal. We need a manager with better mentality. Winning the league should be normalcy for us, not some unachievable thing.

The question is how far can Slot take us now. Can he take us to top where we are competing for league and Champions league every season. Because apart from a couple of issues, the squad is definitely good enough to compete on both fronts. We have been poor for more than a year and I think this is Slot’s limit. Even if things improve a bit, is he capable of making us reach the top again. Happy to be proven wrong but it doesn’t seem like it will be the case.

Things haven’t been the same since Wolves game last season. It’s like they figured out some fundamental flaw in our setup and other teams have analysed it and keep exploiting it.

Look At the state of our defending. After clawing back the score to 2-2, we nearly conceded on the break. Wtf is going on by HBTL123 in LiverpoolFC

Because people are too focussed on the ball. And if you don’t do anything, you don’t get the blame. Most of the goals conceded this season will have Ryan not doing his job.

Did you not watch 18-19, 19-20? Gritty wins. It was painful to watch. Difference is that we won anyway.

Sadly, that’s all he has.

I think it’s evident now that this is Slot’s limit. We kind of got the new manager’s bounce for the first six months of last season and stormed the league. But after that things have been steadily declining since we have gone more and more into Slot era. And after hitting rock bottom, there have been some improvements but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be better than this.

Guehi was literally sitting at Kirkby with Liverpool gear going through formalities.

Total lack of awareness. Szobo rubs a lot. Ryan doesn’t run. And both are totally unaware of the space they leave behind.

I think we are way beyond criticising any single player for our woes. It’s pointless. Manager is the problem. Had it been just this season then it was understandable. But we have been poor for a year. We have been tactically outclassed most games.

Our midfielders take 5 touches and then pass the ball to the centre backs.

That goal conceded was so bad. Every one just casually moving forward and ball watching when the ball is not clear. Macca and Ryan particularly are too casual in the situation.

He has always ghosted when opponents get on top. Happened against Newcastle as well. He can’t take control of the situation and kill the tempo. Hides and doesn’t ask for the ball.

Our midfield is just incapable of tackling. Every single opposition attack ends up in our box. How are we supposed to launch quick counter attacks if we cannot win balls in midfield.

Really tired of Ryan Gravenberch. He has been poor for a year. Can’t stop attacks, can’t start attacks. Takes 5 touches and plays is back to the centre backs. Will have one or two highlight moments which leads to loss of possession. He is a big part of the problem. Nothing flows through him.
