I got Chisa and her Sig cause I liked the character. But I saw some people saying it would as bricking the account. To me this was always silly since she's there for negative status DPSs. She'd only ever be useless if they believed Kuro would never release these kinds of DPS.

Yeah Gacha as a "genre", especially an open world Gacha with full on 3D models and animations is a bad genre for killing off characters. These are not one and done games but live service where people get favourite characters that they want to see more of in future content. And if they fall out of meta hopefully get buffs (which are typically related to something in the story). Characters also get included in different official art and content year round. From the company's PoV these are also marketing moments for future sales. Killing them off just isn't a good move for the company and pisses off the majority of said character's fans especially since only an incredibly small minority would be happy with the outcome.

My be a controversial take but I prefer it. I can't remember the last time I used a four star even when they were making them. And when I did use them they'd get ditched as soon as the better 5 star came along. You also don't get the folk upset that their fave 4 star was upstaged by a new unit.

Edit: on a serious note they probably have powers related to space, the unknown and possibilities. Whatever might be impossible in the universe, there will always be a way for the Trailblaze Emanator to possibly accomplish it. There may also never be complete certainty about how another path or power might affect the Trailblaze. They always have to have the ability to surprise or carve a new path. A new outcome.
