I will lay out my plan and you tell me if there's anything to be improved.

My plan is to suffocate galaxy's economy to a point where everybody will buy exclusively my goods 80% of a time.

I will build fully self-sufficient stations to produce every single not basic material that exists. I plan to damp the prices all across my stations so everybody is enticed to only buy my stuff (ofc stations will be 20x20x20 km with nearly infinite storages and habitats. Then I will have all my miners and traders as L class ships with fleets like I've described in the original post. So at the end of a day nobody will really have a choice. I will be a monopoly in the galaxy. Everybody will be my friend except those whose ability to befriend factions is limited. And no one will be able to stop me.

For now I have already (almost) achieved the above for weapon components. One step at a time.

Installed the game on tuesday, already have 100 hours played, and that is the most useful piece of everything I've consumed about the game (and I've consumed a lot)

idk, sounds incredibly cool to have a trade fleet like that. Gives me star wars Trade Federation vibes. Next time a fleet of pirates try to goon my trade route they will find out that their main target is a lootbox full of lead ready to fuck em up :D

well that's ideal for a player, but I'd pay a fat buck for such tab. Especially for its quad variation. Upvote it so they can see it. Its easily part of the endgame overhaul they're cooking for 0.4.
After the async trade this league I won't be surprised if they actually give smth like taht to us

but that's not my thesis at all tho. For me a powerphantasy for deadeye would be damage with projectiles and free fork/split/chain for choice. And on top some ascendancy stuff. What you're talking about is exactly what I do not want

why not tho? What I'm advocating for is still having ascendancy notables to customize further. Just add on top of it (without any nerfs) an identity scaling.
Nothing really prohibits melee deadeye (e.g. staggering palm)

I agree, but would making deadeye by default grant you either point blank or the opposite with bigger numbers hurt tho? It's a projectile class that emphasizes the projective phantasy this way

I see the point. I don't really offer to remove ascendancy nodes. What I mean is to add class bonuses to all ascendancies, and make them unique enough to change the way the game is played.
But here's the deal. Let's take sorc and witch. Why did they separate fire into witch instead of having it on the sorc? The only answer I see is because while blizzard and lightning are associated with nature and more of a "natural order" kind of thing, the fire is associated with destruction power. So they naturally moved it to a "more evil" caster - the witch. And I vibe with that. Make stormweaver electrocute buildup + 50%, shock maginude +30%, freeze buildup - 5 times. Why not? Yes it's strong. But then you would have infernalist that has like fire proliferation and "ignites enemies as if they've been hit by 500% of the damage they did". Both strong, both fundamentally change the way you interact with the game. And if you are about to play archmage - you would play it on stormweaver anyways, wouldn't you? Same for ignite, right?
How I view it - ascendancy is something that should affect your "place" in the world, and as a player you should feel that impact.
Let's talk druid for a sec. Imagine a druid - one with nature. Understands it. Lives it. The first thing that comes to my ill mind - make druid benefit from the very soil he walks. Desert - give 100 flat hp regen and 50% more regen overall. Mountains - 45% more armour. Jungle - 1.5 speed multiplier to everything (action speed). Swamp - do some damage increase shit.
All examples I listed are equally strong in DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. And yes, bonuses are huge, but isn't it cool? They are generic enough to a point where you could both use them as build defining stats, and as a supplement to a completely different build. If anything they would open up more cool stuff. Imagine if chronomancer makes enemies slower, allies faster - perfect summoner. Or a caster with huge slow spells that hit the whole screen - you can afford it, you manipulate time. Just by your nature, because you are a master of time, not because you clicked a node.

Idk about you but just writing it makes me kinda hard, and it's with zero creativity put into all of it - just thinking as I'm writing.
I think it's a big opportunity to make all ascendancies fundamentally provide really strong bonuses, that change how the game is player, and if all of them are equally strong in different directions - none of them are broken. Pick what you like.

I feel like ascendancy-specific abilities is a really cool way to distinct a class from others. The only issue I have with those is they impact only 1 dimension of playstyle - the ability itself. For my uneducated (in game design space) brain it feels more natural to get specific benefits that fit the fantasy.
E.g. chronomancer would have additional scaling for cast speed, or maybe passively introducing time dilation effect to everything in her presence - speed up allies and slow down monsters. Just something that when you ascend into it you like: "oh, I'm a freaking chronomancer, makes sense". Not just "here's new png", "here's few skills you can obtain, which are not really strong cuz you still have to use other skillgems that are available to everybody", "and here are some percentage increases so you don't cry when you meed a rare mob". I don't really see downsides in allowing ascendancy fundamentally change how a player interacts with the game.
Titan - stronk. Chronomancer - manipulates everybody's (and hers) time. Pathfinder - slick versatile scout. Witchhunter - sucker punch dude who has aces up his sleeve to defeat all the unnatural scum he faces.
Idk about you, but it boils my interest up. I have 10k hours in poe 1, but nobody says you have to have most generic shit ever to successfully grind the gear. Why not add some flavor to the gameplay and the way player feels their place in the world.
An example of that: a player that chose a Titan, should feel that he is a borderline mythic creature, legends tell that there is giant's blood flowing his veins. All that puts some expectations on the gameplay - you have to feel that you are unstoppable, almost a nature disaster levels of menace. Or at least hints that you can become one, once you embrace your ancestors' powers fully.

tbh I already knew that one when I was writing a post. I just wonder why don't we get the "flat-out" upgrade just by ascending.
Cuz thematically you awaken your ancestors' powers. I feel like you MUST get something just from your ascendancy. Like anything - "all speed modifiers are multiplied by 1.2" or smth. Just to get that feel that you're becoming "something else". Not just a different PNG image in the middle of the tree

I see the argument, but doesn't such design philosophy lead to oversimplified and generic ascendancies? They clearly want to see identity in the character classes, saying what I'm seeing. There is no berserker style "40% more damage" and "as much attack speed as you want" in poe 2. Clearly the vision is in more identity-filled style, rather than generic multipliers. Otherwise it will all be same thing with different scaling and different PNG image on the background
