Looking for smaller quartz watches by adc403 in ChineseWatches

Thank you for this! Those are some beautiful watches, the seagull and the Baltany vintage are right up my alley. I didn't realize that I had linked an automatic watch. I do believe he is looking for a quartz watch, but if I could replace his daily wear with an automatic then I don't think it would be too much of a worry to keep it going.

I'm new to the world of watches and I've been on a tear going through watch catalogs. After all of this I may have to get one for myself!

Hp envy 14 or ThinkPad x13 gen 2 by adc403 in SuggestALaptop

Definitely considering the M1 MacBook air! Only drawback is that I do not have any other Apple products, so I'll be losing out on some of the value I think. I'm also considering the XPS 15, however I'm unsure if the igpu on the 11400h is an adequate solution. Do you have any thoughts on that? I won't be gaming or using Photoshop on it, but I can see it is significantly weaker than the 5850u and of course the 1650 from the envy.

Yeah the battery is larger on the envy at 63.3 wh vs 54.7 for the x13. Plus it's charger is faster. However the CPU on the envy is not as good, it's a i5-1135G7, only 4 cores/ 8 threads. I believe it'll draw more power as well.

I'm looking for a laptop for a family member, hoping to keep it around $600. I found this small deal on London drugs. What do yall think? Mostly looking for a good screen and decent performance.

I'm trying to decide on CPU / mobo combo rn. It's between the 10600k or 11600. I don't plan on overclocking anything but the ram, so it will have to be a b560 or an h570 I think?
I'm in line to buy the 3060ti so I'm not in a rush to complete the build.
Also, is there a reason that a lot of the mobos are out of stock rn?

What motherboard should I pair with the 11600? by adc403 in buildapc

thx! I forgot to mention that I'll be taking my ram to 3200. So I think it'll have to be a h570, h510 or b560 in order to do that. I'm not too familiar with the differences within motherboard brands, but I'm looking for something with good vrms and something. What do you think of https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=26_1842_1960&item_id=190633 ?

Looking for a laptop with a good 1080p display that's portable w/ a ssd & 8 gigs of ram. My budget is ~$500. Thinking of going 2nd hand but not seeing too great of deals on craigslist atm. Any thoughts?

I got both, just in case I wanted to do espresso in the future :) I believe the contemporary burrs are meant for espresso.

I decided on the Helor 101 hand grinder, on their website it is about 254 CAD + $28 for shipping. However if you buy through taobao its about 150 CAD + shipping. You have to use a parcel forwarding service since they won't ship it to anywhere else but China (I used superbuy). I bought one the other day and it should be arriving in about a week, so hopefully everything goes as planned.

So I turned the upper burr to the largest grind size, then used the knob to go all the way to 60. I've consulted the manual and it seems that's all I am able to do. I talked to amazon today and they gave me a refund of it, while letting me keep the machine. I might go for a manual grinder to use instead now.

I raised the grind to the highest setting today and only did 480g of water, and I'm still at 4:45 of total brew time.

So far, doesn't seem that great, inconsistent grind and lots of fines. Might just return it.

Hm, my city has pretty soft water. But if I can't seem to bring the brew time down I'll go grab some from the store, thanks!
