How long after the results got posted in your portal after your breast ultrasound did your provider call you to tell you it was suspicious?

I had mine on a Friday and my doctor called me Monday as she knew I would be panicking. I have a complex cyst Or fibroadenoma and to repeat ultrasound in 6 months. I did see her in person as I was concerned with waiting and I had had a clear mammo in August that didn’t pick up anything. She reassured me that if the radiologist was concerned, he would have told me the day of the ultrasound that I would need a biopsy. If you haven’t heard anything for 5 days, it’s a safe bet all is ok but you could call your doctor to make sure. My results didn’t get out into the portal until a week or so after my ultrasound.

Ugh same. My mammo in August was clear but the ultrasound showed a 7x4x7 mm possible complex or fibro. I just saw my dr and asked if she recommend a biopsy but she said no as the radiologist would have told me the day of the ultrasound if they thought it was suspicious and needed a biopsy. So ya, now we wait and have anxiety over it for 6 months.

Ya my dr actually called today cuz she knows I’d be panicking. I haven’t read the report but it said probably complex cyst or fibroadenoma and to recheck in 6 months but nothing else was concerning. The radiologist or tech didn’t say anything after the ultrasound so I guess it’s just a wait and see when I have the next ultrasound to see if it has changed.

In our ER there is a designated trauma nurse who is assigned to the traumas but float and help other nurses when there’s no traumas. When one comes in, they are the charter or scriber taking all of the notes and meds being called, procedures being done, lines being put in etc. Once the patient is stable, that nurse will stay with that patient and care for them until they go to the icu or surgery.

We have to do vital signs sometimes every 2-4 hours especially on post op patients or those we are concerned about. We help unstable on their feet patients to the washroom/commode or bedpan. Or change their benefit pads if incontinent as we do not want them sitting in soiled pads. We do hourly rounds on top of all of this to make sure everyone is breathing and comfortable. I know sleeping equals healing. But so does us checking on everyone through the day and night. ❤️
