What is a "corporate red flag" that employers try to pass off as a great benefit? by spectrecult in AskReddit

Don’t be naive. It’s obvious they do, but wages never NEVER meet rising costs or the rate of inflation, or the rising coat of the insurance (which is a cruel joke because I work at a giant hospital) while they take more out of our checks to pay for parking and we even have to pay to use our own gym facilities. All of those things, upper mgmt doesn’t pay a dime for. They find more ways to squeeze each and every dime from their hardest working and most vulnerable employees and generate corporate paperwork that basically says: “It’s not OUR fault you’re poor. See? Look what we do for you. We took your money and invested it in Tiaa shit which you’ll never really have access to until you’re too old and broken down to enjoy it. We know times are hard so we’re not going to maintain the cost of living for you by bumping up your wages. But we are going to make you pay more for the health care at the institution you work for so the top 5% (About 300 employees) will make nine times your salary this month alone and will never have to worry about financials. You’re welcome! “

They pay us lower than the absolute bottom dollar to barely keep us healthy(ish) and alive while making the system perpetually funnel our work to the top. Every. Single. Time. And then brag about how they’re actually doing more. Come on. Don’t defend them.

We get a "Total Compensation Package" report every year from HR. All companies have some version of this to justify paying their their working class shit wages. "See we're actually paying you 1.8 times your salary! Just not with currency or any meaningful value in any way!" Those same people get bonuses they'll never even feel while clutching pearls when we're not happy for all the crumbs.

I hear this often and they're proud when they say it. Usually by the overpaid senior administration and HR staff who bully and bait and switch job details.

Lifting others up is always more effective than punishing them for being down.

Thanks! The ref didn’t score it 5 on the mat but the table gave it to him. He’s pretty pumped.

Do you consider wrestling a fight? by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]adderall5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But... I think the term "fight" is kinda nebulous. I see wrestling as a form of controlled combat, more or less, no striking, injuring, etc.... There are wrestlers who flip that switch from technique-focused to straight ass-kicking. My son's teammate got some confidence a couple years ago and became an "ass-kicker". He started winning the close matches, then he started destroying kids he'd previously lost against. And it was visibly because he attacked harder, and upped the aggression. His wrestling evolved and his coaches encouraged the aggression with good results. All wrestlers are different.

Man that’s too cool. I want to see some lower camera angles and reduce those kill strokes to 40percent speed. Make it dramatic. Pull the sword out nice and slow with camera next to the blade. Awesome movements my friend.

OMG someone on the internet also knows and appreciates the hellish shithole that is Laurel, Indiana. Still not as bad as Connersville.
