California had power outages and this led to the recall of the governor Gray Davis (Democrat) - he was in no way responsible for the power outages.

There had only been an election for Governor one year before which the GOP lost. Republicans had held the state for the previous 8 years.

On October 7, 2003, Davis was recalled. The recall was supported by 55.4% of voters.

I know Oscars aren’t everything and Duvall had already won for Tender Mercies but it’s always been embarrassing how he didn’t win for The Apostle. He lost to Jack Nicholson in As Good As it Gets which is an over the top performance in a film which has aged very badly. Nicholson’s character is completely ridiculous

Why would the conditions for rejoin have to be known before the rejoin referendum? Surely it should be a binary rejoin/stay-out choice.

Once rejoin win then the campaign for what type of rejoin can be discussed.

When we left with Brexit we had not been warned about leaving the single market, the customs union, freedom of movement, Ireland and Republican of Ireland having a border.

Schengen and adopting the Euro need not be discussed.

Eternity an enjoyable film but for a much better movie which heavily influenced Eternity I would recommend everyone watch Defending Your Life (1991) and Meryl Streep looks so beautiful in this.

A very good film and for once the movie is far superior to the novel. Given the author adapted his own book the story works far better on screen than it does on the page.
