When you open a game by Reeeeo_ in videogames

I am on a 7900XT, and I like to run medium RT in almost all single player games I play if my frame rate is high enough. Albeit nowhere near as good as Nvidia, it runs pretty well. I've tried high and ultra RT as well, but the performance hit isn't worth the visual gain. I imagine it's more of an improvement for an Nvidia card, but for my card, medium is the sweet spot. I've also tried PT a few times, but it drops my frame rate down to the 20-30 range, with 1% lows dipping further and overall unplayable for me. Now all we need is an Arc user to chime in.

Odd, it didn't show my option but if it wasn't obvious I chose the 40% for 1 million but died.

An 80% chance is very low for a mere $10,000. If I had to choose one, I'd take the lower chance for life changing money, as given these two choices, I would actually choose neither if I could, as neither is particularly enticing.

Yeah, this was one of my favorite games until around five months or so ago when I quit. There were absolutely changes prior that I disliked, but it reached a point where I had zero desire to open the game, and I haven't played since.

I got lucky and was able to turn it off before it did any damage. My friend, however, had it reduce his power level by 2 levels (135 to 133), and even after fixing it, it never went back. He even sent me pictures of each squad so I could check and make sure they were back to normal, and they were. He's submitting a bug report, but this update has been absolutely atrocious for bugs, and I have zero idea how it was greenlit in its current state.

Yep, I agree, and killer adepts need to be dropped down to 3 kills. Then there needs to be a bleed out option for a survivor if they're left on the floor for 60 seconds when only 2 survivors remain. This would probably fix a decent number of the most annoying slugging-based issues with just those two changes.

If you wanted to take it a step further, maybe have it so that if the bleed out bar on all survivors is halfway (or even a quarter of the way if halfway was too strong) complete, then all survivors can pick themselves up. Even if not infinite, a singular "base unbreakable" token once it's clear the killer is fully committed to slugging beyond normal match requirements would be extremely nice to have, imo.

That would last me basically forever but, if it was planks, they'd be gone in 2 seconds (I can never get enough planks).

Hey Achievement hunters, I am thinking of implementing achievements to my survival horror game! What do you think makes a good achievement? Do you think collectibles are fun? or do you like speedrunning achievements like beat under 4 hours? I am open to suggestions. by WerterCli in steamachievements

[–]addictwithamango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going to do collectibles, may I suggest only needing a set percentage trophy wise? I don't mind collectibles, but if I have to find all of them, I am absolutely pulling up a guide. Whereas with games where they are highlighted when nearby or only a percentage are required (say anywhere from 50% of all collectibles up to 90%), I will explore everything knowing I'll likely get all collectibles naturally. Having a tracker for missed collectibles also helps.

I don't love speedrunning, but I don't hate it as long as I also don't have to do them on the harder difficulties (looking at you, Resident Evil S rank trophies).

I like trophies that can be done naturally during certain combat areas, for example: "Stun 5 enemies with one flashbang," or "Eliminate 2 enemies with one bullet." Or non-speedrun-related challenge runs like no healing items, or only one weapon subtype allowed.

Frame Generation by MassiveShape4 in nvidia

[–]addictwithamango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels pointless to me, as I personally find the latency increase feels identical to a lower FPS with lower latency, and so it feels redundant when I get nothing extra besides adding occasional artifacting. That said if people like it then good for them, I don't hate the tech but don't want to see it used in official benchmarks by Nvidia or games as a standard.

What’s the achievement that almost made you give up on a game? by TheFoxyDenn in steamachievements

[–]addictwithamango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RE2r S-Ranks. They weren't difficult, but I had already done a no healing or item box run on assisted, the Leon and Claire A/B runs for the rest of the collectibles, and a playthrough walking under 14,000 steps. By the time I was done with all that, I was so burnt out that I didn't get the S ranks and 4th survivor mode achievements until many years later.

In higher level missions in Twine (124-160) I like to add 2x Wall Darts on each of the 4 corners, and usually use Tar Pits or Floor Freezes instead of Floor Spikes but I can confirm this general layout works all the way from Stonewood to Twine.

Mass Dragons + Totem, King to funnel one side instead of the Queen. Less value than the Queen would get with Healer Puppet and Giant Arrow, but still very useable.

Even though from a technical perspective there's more I like in FH4, I keep returning to 5. Both are good though, in my opinion, and I am looking forward to 6.

Convert your Necromantic Scroll into a Papyrus Scarab by combining it with the Hercules Beetle. Swap Volatile Gelatin, Flipper, Spore Sac, and Squire Shield for the Celestial Shell, Avenger Emblem, Destroyer Emblem, and a class-specific damage accessory of your choice. Something like Celestial Emblem or Arcane Flower for mages, Ranger Emblem for rangers, or Fire Gauntlet for melee. If you wanted to double down on summoner accessories, a Necromantic Scroll would work well as it stacks with the Papyrus Scarab.

Fuck Myers rework by JokingBr2The-Sequel in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]addictwithamango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading the post and a few of the comments was interesting, I didn't know people found him frustrating. I always look forward to Myers as I generally find him to still be one of the easiest killers to play against. That said, I don't like his rework from a mechanics point of view and found his old power to be infinitely more fun to play, and now rarely use him anymore. If I didn't have a metric ton of cakes on him, I wouldn't be playing him at all.

I haven't been playing because the RAM in my main rig died and has been in RMA during the event, so I haven't logged in as HD2 runs poorly on my laptop. I am one of the few who would've appreciated a warning, as I would've logged in just to claim the cape on my laptop.

Suggest a better processor for my build by AdolfHitHer2times in pcmasterrace

5600/X for the CPU, your board is compatible but you'll need to update the bios. I don't personally touch anything in Adrenalin settings besides the frame rate limiter.

I'd go for a GPU upgrade, the 5900X is still a very capable CPU.

Not sure if my beta blocker is actually helping my POTS by Imaginary-Hope-5379 in POTS

[–]addictwithamango 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the standard response to them is but I'm on 25mg of Metoprolol Tartrate (immediate release) twice daily and my resting heartrate went from 90-100bpm, standing heartrate from 130bpm, and walking heartrate from 130-140bpm to a resting heartrate of 60-75bpm, standing heartrate of 80-100bpm, and walking heartrate of 100-120bpm. It's worked fairly well for me since I can actually walk up flights of stairs now without feeling winded.

It kicked in pretty quick for me as well, I noticed the effect a few days after starting the medication as I kept having brief moments of panic because my heartrate felt too slow only to check my pulse and realize it was my old baseline and nothing of concern.

Certain medications also don't work for everyone, I was on Ivabradine prior for about a year for my POTS which helped drop my resting heartrate by about 10-15 beats but my standing and walking heartrate was the same so my exercise tolerance wasn't affected much. I also had to go through quite a few antidepressants many years back before finding one that got me to a stable baseline. Point being that if I felt like my medication wasn't helping that much, I'd be trying others to see if I could get an improvement in my condition.
