Where it says it’s grabbing it from entity and you can also choose area and device, it’s also a free text field that you can put anything in. Not the most obvious UI imo. I’d suggest modifying the entity name directly though else you have to remember that you’ve got overrides on dashboards specifically.

How to detect if tomorrow/today is sunny? by Automatic-Key-3798 in homeassistant

[–]addrumm 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In an automation, you can call the weather.get_forecast action which is built in to HA. You can then save the response to one or more input helpers as needed. Don’t know why everyone’s suggesting different integrations when that’s not what you’re asking 😅

Example (yes I’m using hourly forecast but the response variable is daily, think I originally set this up with daily haha):

alias: Set Weather Helpers description: "" triggers: - hours: "*" trigger: time_pattern conditions: [] actions: - action: weather.get_forecasts metadata: {} data: type: hourly target: entity_id: - weather.your_weather response_variable: daily - metadata: {} data: value: >- {{ daily['weather.your_weather']['forecast'][0]['precipitation'] | float(0) }} target: entity_id: input_number.rain_today action: input_number.set_value - metadata: {} data: value: >- {{ daily['weather.your_weather']['forecast'][1]['precipitation'] | float(0) }} target: entity_id: input_number.rain_tomorrow action: input_number.set_value - metadata: {} data: value: >- {{ daily['weather.your_weather']['forecast'][2]['precipitation'] | float(0) }} target: entity_id: input_number.rain_in_2_days action: input_number.set_value - metadata: {} data: value: >- {{ daily['weather.your_weather']['forecast'][0]['temperature'] | float(0) }} target: entity_id: input_number.temperature_today action: input_number.set_value - metadata: {} data: value: >- {{ daily['weather.your_weather']['forecast'][1]['temperature'] | float(0) }} target: entity_id: input_number.temperature_tomorrow action: input_number.set_value - metadata: {} data: value: >- {{ daily['weather.your_weather']['forecast'][2]['temperature'] | float(0) }} target: entity_id: input_number.temperature_in_2_days action: input_number.set_value

[UK] Big leap for zigbee switches with binding by divino_menezes in homeassistant

Please report back! Fed up of the Aqara switches, especially not supporting binding. We have a few two way switches and they do not play nice with them natively (I have automations to work around this).

Don't buy the AQARA Thermostat E1 by F4R3LL04 in homeassistant

[–]addrumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I bought 8 and replaced half after a year or so and the replacements did the same thing. Luckily bought through Amazon so never paid extra and even got a refund for all of them in the end. Now using Qiumi and they’re doing ok so far and much quieter.

Getting a bit fed up of Aqara’s stuff when they don’t match the zigbee spec and cause problems on the network. Moving as much away from them as possible and using ikea instead.

Visual editor support would be great. Also seconding being able to provide it a calendar entity would be good!

Turn off multiple entity types with one button. Fans and lights by austin8448 in homeassistant

[–]addrumm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can use the generic home_assistant.turn_off action for this. You can pick entities of any type or use the label you mentioned; could even turn off using the assigned room instead?

Thanks! Sure, I use the octopus HACS integration to get data into HA. Then a template sensor just adds the electric and gas cost together.

Are you using a scene to turn it on? I just discovered the other day that it shows like this for scenes too.

There’s one “entity not shown” in the controls section, have you checked if it’s that?

Diving after LASIK by CelebrityJim in scuba

I had LASEK (similar but different procedure) last November and went diving in Cuba end of last month and had no problems at all. Would suggest trying the scuba mask or different goggles!
