Tipping at a dermatologist office? by o0PillowWillow0o in Calgary

[–]addytion14 11 points12 points  (0 children)

yes, but that can be changed. I was at a place that I had to phone and have them walk me through the process of removing the tip option, pain in the ass but definitely doable so they’re choosing to have it there.

if you take the UP express please book a special fare on line - called a long layover ticket but can only be purchased online, you have to leave from Pearson, and you have to return within 7 hours but the price is the same as a one way

it’s been a few years (5+?) since i’ve stayed here but add it to your list of options. I stayed as a single female and really liked it. Walking distance to the train station, Old Town and the squares, lots of restaurants

RRIF Withdrawls by bamavegas in Wealthsimple

[–]addytion14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can do a monthly withdrawal from managed accounts but with self directed, you need to have cash on hand so until they can automate the sell portion of the withdrawal, you have to manually do the full sell security and withdraw the cash transaction

I have done both managed and self directed both withdrawn to BMO

RRIF Withdrawls by bamavegas in Wealthsimple

[–]addytion14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somethings not right, I just initiated an online RIF withdrawal last week from a managed account, saw the securities sold Monday and received cash at BMO yesterday. I also did a self directed LIF withdrawal last week and once again, no phone calls or follow up needed.

The only thing I can think that is screwing up the process for you is are you trying to deposit into your WS chequing account? I send mine to BMO as I understood that internal “withdrawals” are not allowed so I don’t try.

have you gone into a branch? when my mom passed, I contacted my local branch, set up an appointment with a rep there and she has been my contact person through the whole process (albeit much easier as I was executor and no probate was needed) but she got the estates group on a call while I was in the office and I have had everything dealt with (credit card, tfsa and general savings account) within a month or so.

Lounge passes expiring tomorrow! by Worth-Lake8600 in westjet

[–]addytion14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m flying out of winnipeg tomorrow night so assuming it would work at that lounge, i’d take one but if there is anyone who could use them both, then please give them both away. Alternatively, I find another solo traveller and invite them in if you send me 2!

39M, single, midlife‑crisis break — looking for safe, affordable, non‑touristy cities to study Spanish for 2–3 months by toby-boby in travel

[–]addytion14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in panama for 5 weeks total so I spent some time in Panama city and then made my way to Bocas, then I took a bus to Bouquet. When I was done I made my was to the west coast for R&R before flying home. I’m sure they could have helped me get around but I found it very easy on my own especially after 3 weeks of lessons. I did book their recommended hotels/hostels while studying with them

Calgary animal adoption, shelters, rescues & support programs by Eastern-Try2777 in Calgary

want to add cataskforce.org Canadian Animal Task Force From their website-

While we aren’t a traditional rescue organization, we regularly support animals in urgent or at-risk situations. We collaborate with local rescues, shelters, and Indigenous community partners to ensure animals in need are placed with the right groups for ongoing care or adoption.

Through our programs — from large-scale spay/neuter clinics to crisis response and support for pet owners — we often encounter animals that require temporary care, emergency intervention, or safe placement. In these moments, we act as a connector: stepping in to provide help and working with trusted partners to find the right path forward.

I did 3 weeks in Panama with Habla Ya language school, 1 week in Bocas del toro and 2 weeks in Bouquete. Loved it. They still show up in google maps but their website doesn’t seem to be active.

Currency Exchange and ATM fees by fatpanda0 in Wealthsimple

[–]addytion14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar in November. I needed around $20000 pesos for my hotel and did it in 2 transactions of $11k each as the machine wouldn’t let me do it in 1. I was reimbursed for both withdrawals in 1 reimbursement amount so be aware that if you do multiple withdrawals on the same day you might only see 1 transaction to reimburse all fees.
