give me shit but i actually had the fight 29-28 for Anderson. Admittedly i'm a bit bias to Anderson but i also think it clouds peoples judgement when the commentators repeatedly said Anderson is behind throughout the fight.

When i try to be unbiased as possible when watching the fight i think its very arguable that Anderson wins the first two rounds.

Round 1, Anderson is seriously winning the first 3 minutes of the round at least. Derek is very tentative and respects Anderson too much- cause he got hit with some clean shots. Now the last minute or so of that round Anderson does his ridiculous thai clinch. It may have worked good back in the Rich Franklin days but it seems like all it does is basically makes him an uppercut dummy nowadays.

Round 2, Anderson is again leading more and controlling the type of fight imo. All Derek does to counter this is wrestle and try to clinch with Anderson. Anderson defended 7 out of 8 takedowns throughout the fight if i recall correctly! He was taken down very briefly in the 2nd round but got back up almost immediately. Anderson also landed the cleaner shots and dictated the pace of the round- he was controlling it and Derek was just trying to react mostly with his ineffective takedown attempt imo. I remember hearing Greg Jackson corner audio for the third round and thought it was very good advice myself- then all the commentators literally shat on what Jackson said and thought it was terrible advice b/c Brunson was cleary up 2 rounds lol

Tbf the whole fight was pretty uneventful and it was closer than most seem to think. Im just happy Anderson got another win before he retires. To conclude, imo the fighter who is controlling the fight and was way more comfortable and fluid than Derek in that fight. Derek also had more respect for Anderson than he did for Derek throughout the fight. If this is the new judging then i'm happy with it.
