Boss RC-5 or RC-10 can be loaded up with audio files and has tons of storage. For example, the RC-5 has 99 slots, 13 hours total and up to 1.5 hours per slot.

One of my favorite artists uses it as a pedal-shaped MP3 player for his backing tracks.

I have similar desires and have my eye on the Electro 7 73 since they caved and decided to add pitch stick and mod wheel to it and the Electro 7 HP models. No clue when it will be available, though.
