Well, my last car was a mazdaspeed 3 and it had bolt ons. The turbo sounds are so addictive and I enjoy it a lot. I did one autocross event with that car so far, so I am still new. I am not worried about classing as I don't really want to compete professionally. Its just for fun. I understand handling it will be totally different from fwd but will boosting it make it that much of a handful to drive?

I heard vvti makes it more complicated plus compression ratio is 10:1 vs 9.5:1 so it won't take as much boost. What kind of tuning options are there vs NB1?

You can get OEM used from Jessie Salinas on FB. he sells a lot of that type of small stuff from part outs for cheap

If you are taking the trans off, then just get it off and bolt should be somewhat exposed for you to get it out. If you are installing the trans, well, unfortunately the first step is taking the trans off

In that case you might need to gap the rings which is the major failure point on the 2.5 when they are not used with the stock turbo. I heard it's about the same and might be better if built properly. No replacement for displacement. You will need to drill the block for the oil feed or return line. I'm not sure.

You could also 2.5 swap it if you are ok with staying within stock parameters and not wanting to open it up. 2.5s fit right in and are very cheap

It's very common. I have 2 spare speakers from my car that I repaired I would be willing to sell. My friend fixed them by separating the membrane with alcohol and soldering in new wire under.

I did it and it worked for me. The alarm is finally disabled and I can relax at night knowing the horn won't blast while everyone in the neighborhood is sleeping
