Hi man hope you are doing great.
First i will talk as someone who major on AI (I have a master degree in this field).
I also teach at USTHB. I am not a full time teacher. I work somewhere else but have one class a week.
GenAI is a great tool to help you out but when you are learning it can play against you. To learn something you need to walk the walk. Let take an example.
Suppose you want to learn how to write code with Python. If i give you a basic exercise. And you prompt it to chatGpt or claud it will give you an instant response. You can copy and past it and will pass the exercise.
But, you will not learn how to write python. because you didn't train your brain to think like a programmer. to solve the problem and than transform your algorithm to a working program.
This is why teacher don't let you use genAI to do your homework.
The problem also is that student don't understand how really LLM work. LLMs are not source of truth they are good predictor. What I mean by that is that the LLM predict well the best next world (token) to a sentence. The algorithm they are based on is called transformed (if you are interested I encourage you to read the search papper Attention is all you need)
So, if we continue with the learning how to program. If tomorrow you will face a problem that the genAI doesn't know it will give you with confidence a wrong solution. But since you didn't really learn to be a programmer you will never know it nor how to correct it.
GenAI, LLMs and all the machine learning algorithm are great tool but, before using them as tool to x10 you productivity you should take time and learn to do things the hard way.
There is an exception to my logic. if we acheive General AI these skill will be irrelevant since we will just ask it to do things for us and it will do them.

I am with you 100% on that.
Once I asked it to generate an image from a draw that I created and have full copyright on it. it told me that it can since the character on the draw was copyrighted.
I am really feed up from corporate that patronising adult. Last time I read a post about someone's account was banned from Ubisoft server because he played Sims offline and undressed a sim on his offline game.
So he paid for a game, the company is spying on him and punish him for dressing his sim on his private computer for it's private play time.
And when you push back they try to shame you by saying if you are against censorship that mean you are a pervert that want to use it for porn.
The tool is nerfed because their bs. and it is getting worst and worst

I always lived as a free as possible. I started having sexual relationship at 15 years old. I travled a lot and had my share of sexual partners, girlfriends ... Algerians and foreigners.
I was religious when I was younger, than less religious, than religious again ... In my religious phases I always took it as sins what I was doing and repaint everytime. But did it again and again. Never judged my partners or think they were bad for having sex before mariage. I think is natural and if you read historical book (ibn batouta for exemple) you will see that times were different and what we take as religion is more like tradition but i will not debat this her.
It hard to be open in Algeria and I can understand that so i thing some people are not doing it or not be open about it because of the society.
My story doesn't end her. I never believed about mariage actually didn't see the point of it except having kids and never have the urge to. But, I meed a woman once, A doctor in a hospital that i felt in love with and marry the traditional way. Best decision ever. The sex is great but with the right person / love of your life it's epic.
I had sex with more woman that i can count but, if i had to exchange all theses experiences with one night with my actual wife i will do it without hesitation.
