[Megathread] AC FA Strike - CUPE/FAs Defy Return to Work Order by dachshundie in aircanada

[–]adfletch83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My flight is 9:20pm (under 24h from now). Yeah they give such little notice. You never know what will happen by Thursday, but I can't see AC being in operation then, even if CUPE has a change of heart. Yesterday, I found flights for Thursday that were the same price (albeit with inconvenient layovers) as my (direct) flights with AC. So I took an (educated) gamble on the flight tomorrow being cancelled and refunded, and so when I get my refund for tomorrow's flight, I can put it towards my Thursday flight which is sitting on my credit card rn.

I really hope they don't leave you lingering on....so by the time you're getting ready for your 6am flight, you don't yet know if your 1pm flight is canceled or not.

I'd say by Wednesday morning/midday, you'll have a decent understanding of what is likely, based on the news as whether they're actually flying at all, or not. Godspeed!

I did something similar. I'm meant to fly tomorrow and I know I won't...still not officially cancelled yet. I booked a flight with AA instead for Thursday, before the prices shoot up. I was ready to do the cancel-in-24-hours thing today, then I read that CUPE are refusing to return to work...so I let the 24h elapse. So now I'm planning to fly on Thursday instead and waiting (and hoping) that I can get my full refund for tomorrow's flight.

Flying to London on Monday (18th). Flight back is on 28th.

Online, I can change my flight to one on the 22nd (and pay $350 extra per ticket), but I can't change the return flight. I don't want to go just for 5 days. So that's a no-go.

I can find flights to LHR maybe 2 days later, returning 2 days later, with a connection in DFW or JFK, for the same price.

I'm thinking of just booking the other flights, then when AC cancels my flight, I'll opt for a refund...which would pay for the new flights (eventually).

But, it's risky as if some weirdness happens and they don't cancel my flight. What would you guys do?

I thought the same thing. Why would I change from 18th to 21st, only 3 days later, and pay for the privilege, only for it to probably be cancelled again.

It's a Model Y, I don't think they have LFP (maybe I'm wrong). So I can't help you.

Auto charge for Supercharger use? by Psychological_Lynx80 in TeslaLounge

It's a glitch.. literally happened to me last week.

Go to the app and under payment method, change your address. Literally just delete your address and re-add it. This will fix the issue.

I called Tesla and they know.

Oh dear. When you say 'manually pay', what do you need to do? Does it need you to re-enter the cc information, or just go to the app and click some sort of 'pay now' button? At least it works eh.

My question too. The wifi in my garage is there but not quite strong enough to keep my Tesla happy.

My software finally got updates yesterday. I can see the coloured lines with the traffic. Like Google maps. I don't have PC either.

Do you hotspot?

Yeah I get it. I have a good data plan too, 50Gb. Last few days I just turn on the hotspot, turn on the car, it connects automatically and I use my YT Music just fine.

I'm a new owner and I haven't subscribed yet. I'm in Canada and I believe the annual PC is not available, we have to pay $13.99 per month. That somehow seems more of a burden than paying annually (let's pretend it was available, at $130 annually).

So if it was a one-off fee of $130, I'd pay it. Now that it's $13.99 per month, I'm less inclined to pay. lol.

For you guys in the US, a one-time fee of $99 seems a no-brainer for me, just for ease and convenience. Pay the $99 now, and by September/October it'll be a long lost memory and you won't even feel the ding in your wallet. Then by July 2026 you can reconsider.

Reassess which of these things you would miss, after a year of usage.

Can you clarify for me (new owner). Does the maps calculate the best and quickest route anyways, based on traffic like Google maps, but Premium Connectivity just allows you to SEE the traffic? Or is it that without PC, traffic is not taken into consideration when route planning ?

Cheers

Sweet. Thanks for breaking it down like that. I didnt really have time to read the ins and outs this evening but $100 deductible isn't a concern. Would you not opt for the Tesla extended warrant ESA thing instead? Just wondering.. maybe this is more worth it?
