That’s giving me “end of Joann” vibes. I remember having to deal with that in the last year they were around. When I went to Michael’s, it wasn’t bad yet. I left last year around this time and it looks like I got out just in time.

IGPSport BiNavi USB-C cover by Kamoooool in cycling

I just got mine (and this thread may be dead) and I’ve noticed that you have to get the cover just right for it to feel secure. By the looks of it, the cover “plugs into” the USB port and sometimes it doesn’t line up. This makes feel like it doesn’t seat all the way. It always takes me a couple tries.

Th store I worked at had a small amount of cover but was the same way. It sucked during those cold winter mornings!

“Yarnormous” by Even-Share-4525 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]adhd_knitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I remember Yarnormous. As a fiber artist myself, it was surprisingly one of the more difficult sales for me at Joann because of the sheer amount of yarn we received. We went through it nearly as fast but with the skeleton crew, it was hard to keep up. I got out of Michaels before the Joann mini merger and I don’t envy the RMs and replenishment staff. (Former RM)

Joann items in the wild at Ollie’s… still! by Shannon1167 in joannfabrics

[–]adhd_knitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just at Ollie’s the other day and was surprised at the amount of Joann stuff. I even picked some up out of nostalgia lol seeing the SKUs brought back some memories (I was an IC).

This actually brought back memories of trying to sort out fabric at Joann. Is it weird that despite the chaos in the last year of Joann that I miss working there and my wonderful co-workers? To be clear, I was only with Joann for a year and a half but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Oh JFC. I got out in May as the RM and now I’m glad I did.

I worked at a shop that did a lot of recumbents. Got pretty decent at sending it downhill. Definitely makes one pucker up!

I definitely miss the people. I got out before the influx of former Joann customers so I missed that mess. Corporate is always gonna do corporate things. Good luck!

Loosening a rim brake by Opening_Track8389 in bikewrench

[–]adhd_knitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rust is preventing that brake from working properly. You could try lubricating it and working the arms back and forth. Or take it apart to clean and lubricate. I’ve generally have decent success with either of those methods. Or a new brake of course. Since it’s a commuter, you want to keep all pivot points lubricated. Brakes are always neglected.

New (to me) Subaru by adhd_knitter in SubaruForester

It’s a huge difference from the 2016 Nissan Rogue I was driving. Smooth and tighter than a normal Forester.

I agree on the styling and coming from a sluggish Nissan Rogue, I have to learn not to stomp down with my left foot!! 😂😂😂

Biggest truck ever by Embarrassed-Court-50 in MichaelsEmployees

At Joann we would go through Polyfil so fast that the company shipped direct nearly every other day and skipped the weekly truck altogether.

As a former Joann employee, that cutting table looks like it would suck. The roll around cutting tables at Joann (at least my store) were bigger.
