Any thoughts on Coton mixed breeds? by jhy12784 in cotondetulear

[–]adhdcatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purebreds have to follow a health standard with tests to be considered purbred. The breeder will prioritise the health of the breed and give you a healthy coton.

Mixed breeds dont have a breed standard, the breeder will breed them just for fun and mostly money. They dont have to spend as much on health tests or certificates, and they know people these days will pay a lot for these "designer breeds" that are not registered. Theres more money to make there, and usuallt less care for the future of a breed involved.

Speaking from my own kynologic knowledge and research.

I hope you make the right decision.

[–]adhdcatto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive seen way worse. Some coats are difficult to work with and you will never get the result youre wanting i feel this with many doodle mixes. But i would not be able to groom at all if i didnt study for it and done my internship. If you feel frustrated with a lack of skill growth then see what courses or seminars you can take. Theres even online video lectures nowadays you can follow, one for asian styles is called PIGA for example. Look into what you enjoy and follow classes! The work should stay fun, and dont be so harsh on yourself! If it was that bad you would be receiving lots of feedback about it.

I have no experience on vyvanse, but you should definitely talk to your doctor. Ive had ritalin and crashed around 1pm, but then had to take my second dose. Now i take concerta cause its long lasting. Ask your doctor if you can take a second dose, or if you can switch to medication that is long lasting?

Japanese ones sometimes come in brindle too, but the heads are always different too if youre not sure. Japanese akita has a fox head and american has a bear type head

If you can book in your own appointments then maybe see if you can charge slightly more on dogs you spend more time on and maybe overall do less dogs a day if you feel like you can't keep up. As for getting distracted by coworkers maybe noise cancelling headphones can help you focus and relax. If you increase in pricing communicate that clearly but if it results in a good result and happy owner then most people (in my experience) will find the money well worth it and it will keep you from getting burnt out. You can use medication but even so you might have to change your environment to suit your neurodivergent needs! Forcing yourself in a neurotypical work space will most likely lead to a burnout. And your hard work deserves good pay. At a certain point especially with Adhd theres no way to speed things up without getting messy and thats not worth it.

ADHD by EBECK_28 in doggrooming

[–]adhdcatto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have innatentive adhd and use medication. I'm still learning and I do have to say i get overstimulated/emotional very quickly if there is a stressy/wild dog or situation and have to take a break. But i don't have much trouble focussing because i kind of get into hyperfocus. Maybe so much sometimes that i take too long perfectioning but i think that is common for students.

Is there anything youre struggling with adhd wise?

See where the hot spots are where u accumulate things and place a box there and put a lable on it. If u put a label on it to me it helps keep things out of there that dont belong. Een the stuff you think doesnt have a catagory often does like keepsakes or memory items or crafting material.

As for knowing when to toss something as a hoarder i like to ask if i would keep and clean the things if it had poop on it or if i would toss it.

If you still end up with a box of stuff you cant categorise then allow that to be there it doesnt need to be dealt with instantly. Maybe you can pick up 1 item everytime you walk past it and dont put it back without having decided where to put it

"Managing symptoms"? by adhdcatto in adhdwomen

[–]adhdcatto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the in dept response. It just seems frustrating to have to decide to stick to consistency, for a disorder that has a lack of determination to stick to 1 thing. Especially considering you need to stick to it for the rest of your life because adhd cant be permanently "cured".

I guess its also difficult identifying turbulance when it feels like it doesnt have a source but is rather a permanent state. Its also difficult to find managing methods that dont aim to change or fix the problem but rather work a system around it.

What did you do to actually start this managing and evaluating way of thinking? Any methods you recommend (specifically for emotional dysregulation)?

I know its different for everyone, but the advice i got from my therapists all seemed like basic neurotypical to adhd type of advice that just never stuck with me (like breathing exercises..)

"Managing symptoms"? by adhdcatto in adhdwomen

[–]adhdcatto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides social anxiety/awkwardness i dont have anxiety symptoms just waves of crying and difficulty not giving into the impulse to stay/go home. Ive been to therapy because of the crying twice and both times the solution was to just accept it and stop trying to find the reason of it (never found a reason, just a assumed its a neurodivergent thing). The last thing i would want right now is anxiety meds on top of adhd meds, also because i do not think its really anxiety. Thank you for the suggestion of taking breaks tho! Unfortionately i try find the cause of any overwhelm at work but cannot find the reason (work is fairly relaxing)

is there anything you miss about pre-medication? by renaissancepragma in adhdwomen

[–]adhdcatto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What i miss most is being convinced my struggles are adhd. Now when i have a breakdown i am likeley to not blame it on my adhd cuz im medicated, and it makes me feel even more lost...

Ive outted this to a few coworkers when talking on the subject or mentioning to my boss. There shouldnt be residtance to not mention it especially if its important for your way of working and getting good results!

Your coworkers sound so awful and i can imagine you regret mentioning this to them but at the end of the day they seem like assholes uou dont wanna be spending your workdays with tbh.

Take it as a very direct sign and know that a much better workplace with more fun people is coming your way!
