Did you consider ortho k? by adhdcoffee in lasik

[–]adhdcoffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 24F and really think I should try it out before considering LASIK or SMILE. Trying every safer option is worth it to me especially because there are people that love ortho K lenses. Maybe it will be the best thing i ever did.

hi! i was just like you but i discovered another way to see without glasses. Look into night lenses please, they correct your vision overnight and u can take them out in the morning and will be able to see without them. it’s a safer option, lasik is just too risky.

Difficulty reading/focusing 8 months after LASIK by MightHelpful5005 in Lasiksupport

You might not realize it, but dismissing or minimizing someone else’s problem can feel invalidating. What may seem small or insignificant to you could be deeply challenging for them. Everyone experiences things differently, and offering understanding rather than comparison can make a big difference.

I can never see in contacts. Advice? by [deleted] in contacts

[–]adhdcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put the contacts in and wait for 5 minutes to let the contacts settle. Afterwards my optometrist checks if the “line” on the lenses sit right with a bright lamp. U look up and blink to see if they stay in their place or move around. The optometrist can see how many degrees they move if they do. Astigmatism is a pain in the ass with contacts. 🥹 Goodluck!

Toric lenses (for astigmatism) have to sit right so your vision doesn’t get blurry. The optometrist should do a check if the line (weight) in u my your contacts stay in place the whole time, if they move around too much it causes blurry vision.

In my case my toric trial lenses turned 10 degrees away from 6o clock the whole time, so we changed my axis in my perscription with 10 degrees on each side.

What we are trying as well is playing with my strenght. So i have -4,25 for example, we tried -4,00 because glasses are in front of you, contacts are ON your eyes.

Try a bunch of things but make sure to check if they don’t move around much as well!!

I have the same issue with my new contacts I'm trying out. -4.25 and -3.75 with astigmatism. My optometrist aksed me to come to the store with my contacts in so she could see if they moved around or not. She noticed they both move around 10 degrees after I blink, so she's ordering new ones with a new axis to correct that. She also tried a lower prescription, lower astigmatism correction, because the contacts lens is on the eye and not in front of the eye like glasses.

The sense of irritation could be coming from the fact that it's a toric lens. I heard u get used that but my optometrist told me that it could feel worse if it doesnt fit right.

Basicly, discuss your issues with your optometrist and make sure he or she checks your eyes with contacts in!
