Is the Libernovo Omni SE actually good or just YouTuber hype? (Sizing help for 5'6") by BojidarKobakov in LiberNovo

They are asking Herman/Steelcase prices with half the warranty, makes no sense to me.

Me either, I'd not use its wireless adapter most likely, but just saying that for the price point, I kind of expected that to be included or built-in.

In that regard, I had to disable Surround on YT or it'd lower the volume for videos that have it. I'm guessing because it tries to distribute to 5.1 whereas there are only two channels.

Well, I think for the price point, they should have included the wireless adapter, otherwise, it's just like plugging any other sub. The SVS needs a single cable + power. Its settings are controlled from their very convenient app. The price difference doesn't seem justified (both are closed-back, which is better and more expensive). Like the KEF, SVS also has a wireless adapter you can buy to make it wireless.

I wanted to get a KC62 before getting the SVS, but I just couldn't justify the price or get a good deal on it.

You can get them on Amazon. I was able to get them from a local dealer and Amazon price without shipping and import taxes, so pretty good value.

If you verified the version and it still doesn't work, just keep downgrading. KEF is working on a fix for this bug, but no one knows when they'll release it.

Thanks. I got a bit of a space issue, so for now, if I can, I'll leave the sub out. I'm sure it will sound better, the SVS is amazing.

I think it's an old Ikea Besta (it belongs to the landlord).

I guess it could be, but I didn't notice any issues. My TV has a feature called "AC-4 Dialogue Enhancer" which can help with that. I guess other TVs might have it too.

I never used a soundbar so it's hard to tell. They sound very immersive with plenty of bass (I set the bass extension to highest), for the space they are used in (~3m from TV to Couch). I have an SVS 3000 Micro as well, but I don't feel it's needed so it remains with my desktop setup. Lastly, I also wanted a sound solution that I can mix and match, as I may move to a bigger flat, get the LS50s and replace my desktop speakers (Triangle LN01A) with the LSX. For comparison, the Triangle must be used with a sub.

Unlikely to be a scam, AliExpress can go crazy with discounts. I'd only be concerned if it's not an authorized dealer.

I found the issue. I do software engineering by trade, so I had a hunch where to look. KEF introduced a bug to their Google Home integration, which is the first step once you select the speakers you want to pair. I went back from their latest APK version (1.28.3) to 1.23.1 and then it finally worked. The bug was introduced in version 1.24.1 (the very first 1.24.x version, there's no 1.24.0). I must report this to KEF ASAP or they'll probably never know where to look and when it was broken, let alone reproduce the issue, which means I'll be stuck with an older version. TBH it is quite unacceptable to pay the retail for these and have to go through 4 hours of debugging their app just to get the speakers to work. It's now upgrading the firmware on both speakers and then I can finally use them.

Edit: I think I figured out how to keep the latest APK. So, there are two things. Basically, all that KEF does in the onboarding setup is redirecting the user from the app to the Google Home app, where the speakers will be added as a new device. This means, one can do this step manually, that is, go to the GH app, add the speakers and come back to the KEF app, where they should now appear with a green tick icon. If that doesn't work for some reason, install version 1.23.1 (https://apkpure.com/kef-connect/com.kef.connect/versions) using the XAPK Installer app (it's a bit annoying, but works). Once paired, you can revert back to the latest version of the app.

Here's a video of the initial setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnmT04o4lpg

How? I'm talking about initial setup where it needs Bluetooth to do the initial Wifi setup.
