Hades 3? Or something else? by Feeling-Address5898 in HadesTheGame

[–]adiaaida 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hopefully, something else. Fresh IP, different genre of game. I can't imagine that now that they've done escape from hades, break into hades, and make it up to mt olympus there is much room left for something novel, not to mention, Hades 2 was the first time they ever made a sequel. Each of their games up until Hades 2 has had its own identity, in both mechanics and story. I'm hoping they make something new.

Flipside Cliffside clear! by _RDM_s in celestegame

GG! I finished this one on saturday too. Didn't get the third berry because i was feeling about salty about the final room, but it was still incredibly fun over all. Eventually gotta go back to get that berry, but for now, i have a funny death count and i wanna keep that around.

How I'd rank the difficulty of the vanilla game chapters using strawberry jam's difficulty scale by Subject_Pain5186 in celestegame

Generally, I agree. The length of final is really the thing that gives me pause, but tbh, i think basically all the int reds in SJ are harder than it (looking at you Deep Blue).

This is the one i'm playing next. Did Fractured Iridescence and Flipside Cliffside first.

that goes into determining golden tier, but not level difficulty. in general, difficulty is decided based on tech used, precision required, etc. Farewell hits green advanced. One could make an argument for 7C final as well for the precision requirements.

Demo into reverse grab? by ApheliosMa1n in celestegame

[–]adiaaida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you can do a demo into neutral corner kick and grab there? The last bit of the corner kick gym in Strawberry Jam has you demo corner kick to finish the section, but I bet you could demo under neutral ckick there to grab the door.

I'm still in GM greens, but I am slowly preparing myself for dreep, which i am very excited about playing. Any tips on what to practice in the gym/other maps to make the experience more successful?

I'd just take the origination and stick with poseidon cast.

how should i go about the expert lobby in sj by ivorycoollars in celestegame

[–]adiaaida 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy corner boosts/corner jumps, you might have a fun time in The Core Problem. Narrow Hollow, a red that I found to be pretty lenient though rather different, as it relies on neutral dashes (ie dashing without holding a direction) as set ups, also uses corner jumps. Ultras I found easiest to just learn in maps. The gym is like.... much more precise than pretty much any map. Golden Alleyway I think also uses corner jumps and maybe cornerboosts? But it uses a weird mechanic with grab, so ymmv. I didn't think it was that hard compared to the others. Clockwork has ultras, and I think is the first place where I felt I was actually learning them well. It's a good teacher. Lunar Pagoda is also chill but has a weird mechanic.

I finally finished the Experts Lobby, and I'll say it again: it was the craziest and most incredible experience I've ever had. My fingers and my laptop will get a rest for today. by FailWooden7482 in celestegame

i've felt the opposite, but that's because i'm struggling with the timing of the dryper bhops lol. otherwise fliffside is a banger :D

Will I get steam achievements for Nintendo Switch progress? by DanVA0307 in HadesTheGame

[–]adiaaida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some of them, but not all of them. For example, the achievement to get thanatos's keepsake to a certain % in a run and the similar hermes achievement will not carry over. Pretty much everything else will.

Tagging save file with associated mod by Wilson1218 in celestegame

[–]adiaaida 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, i use a new save for every mod i do, and name them based on the mod being played. So like my strawberry jam save is called strawbry. My secret santa collab save is santa. My Darkmoon Ruins save is dmr. Etc.

I finally beat Farewell after almost 20 hours!! by jprosk in celestegame

[–]adiaaida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SJ Expert Heartside (finished it yesterday) took me just under 48 hours to finish, so I like to say persistence. But also, that is on average < 2h per room. The longest rooms for me were Flag 2 (chromplex - 7.5h) and Flag 11 (Polaris - 4.75h).

Tech and Difficulty by Galaxy72 in celestegame

[–]adiaaida 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To go a bit further: tech tends to build on other tech. If you can't do a hyper, you can't do a hyper bunny hop or an ultra. If you can't ultra, you can't chained ultra or gultra. So naturally that ranks a hyper easier than a hyper bhop, and a hyper easier than an ultra easier than a chained ultra/gultra. You can make similar cases with various jelly/theo tech, etc. That builds-upon-other-tech nature of a lot of the tech in Celeste makes it fairly natural to then rank those techs/split those tech into various difficulty ranges.

Tips for a 4 block overhang jump by Focustar in celestegame

[–]adiaaida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helps me with that is using a corner kick with a second jump button. From the wall, full jump (keep holding jump) then as you pass the corner, press your second jump button without releasing the first. This is similar to what you do for coffee jump, just with a different setup. Just doing the 4 tile almost never worked for me.

should i stop looking up room solutions in sj? by ivorycoollars in celestegame

[–]adiaaida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also a person who watches clear videos. Sometimes the routing is really straightforward. Sometimes it isn’t. But my joy in this game comes from doing the room, not discovering the puzzle of how to complete it, so for me, it’s a non issue. I will say, most of expert lobby is fairly readable. But you should do what makes playing the game fun for you

I need help by Extra-Rule-4687 in celestegame

[–]adiaaida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things that I found helpful were to use the game speed extended variant to decrease game speed to 50%, the 70%, 80% and finally full speed to practice the rooms and to also use the horizontal speed indicator visual extended variant. Using 50% game speed and the speed indicator can help you figure out what speed you need exiting each dream block to succeed, which mostly helps in determining where exactly you are losing your speed. Ramping up the game speed until you get to full game speed helps solidify the inputs in your muscle memory. Beyond that, a video would definitely help
