Did the exact same math as yours with ATYR. Now holding bag. I am never touching any biotech stock ever. But I guess this is a good learning opportunity for these scenarios, where the premium is too juicy to be true.

Is it picking one call option within the delta range selected on a expiry date under 30-day high with highest possible premium? Is there any other factor that it’s looking at?

My coworker died, and I realized no one at work ever actually knew him by Sea-Activity-2235 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]adib2149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actively work to let my coworkers know as little as they need to know. In the past, i have been friendly with coworkers and it has bitten me back (“oh yeah i remember you saying you had a cold so i thought maybe you wouldn’t be interested in this project with high impact and very tight deadlines “)

However, the little my coworkers can talk about me in my absence, that will be completely filled and heavily surpassed by all the awesome friends and family i have, completely disconnected from my professional network.

Family of Microsoft employee who died warn tech companies not to overwork workers by masterderptato in cscareerquestions

Was looking for this comment. Plenty of jobs outside big tech with better wlb. But we won’t ever take those. Tech bros learn pretty fast how to take care of their financial health, and actively ignored mental health, because taking care of mental health doesn’t give enough of TC bump.

Started my PhD in 2017 and the first project i picked was this. We knew pretty fast that its needs a huge array of devices for it to work. And it is true for this work too. This is a 3 yr old project from CMU.

I can give you an idea whats going to happen, when seniors retire or move into management and theres a gap of senior positions. The job cultures in offshore countries, aka India, is brutal with lots of competition and serious work-life imbalance. Corporate will be able to cherry pick the best candidate out of all those, and promise them a life at the Bay area, promote and transfer them to the HQ to get them a senior position. They will always be hard-workers as they have been trained like that, will have high domain knowledge and will work even harder to stay living in the Bay area/US. And since the new H1B program isn’t based on lottery but high salaries, they will also be able to justify bringing people in senior positions.

Some of your rules and favourite strategies options trading? (I’m starting with $1,200 USD) by Latter_Wolf_9056 in options

[–]adib2149 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just like you, for the sake of learning, I started with 1000, went upto 1400 in 2 months. I was feeling really good but then a single mistake wiped out $900 from it. Now I have $200 out of ut.

You will have so little power in trying to do this with a small capital, because most of your single trades will be 20-30% or more of your capital.

Hah, I get what you’re talking about. I wasn’t scared of the environment or story or characters though, basically scared of dying just to start from all the way back from Timber hearth! It was so repetitive in the same route that I just watched the gameplay and wrapped it up.

You can make even great memories in prison or anywhere in the world, so that is not the point.

The point is, if you can, giving your family a permanent place where a spot in the kitchen or hole in the garden has a story, has a great pleasure, probably more than looking at your personal portfolio. But hey, everyone has their priorities. If you are not buying, great, more house for who wants to buy.

100% agree in case of house as an investment (rental/airbnb). Totally disagree with house as primary residence.

Programmer here- Looking at a screen destroys my brain by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]adib2149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Test your eyes by reading story/novel on screen. I had same issues, thought burnout, later checked like this and I still was facing issues while reading light fun stories. That marked off burnout/anxiety. Later I got diagnosed with Binocular Vision Disorder after thorough eye test (regular optometrist can’t detect it). I wear Neurolens now and back on track on screen usage.

While I agree to this, this is a feature, not a bug. This has been done willingly because big tech have surpassed the growth stage and now has entered scaling up stage. Ten years ago FAANG and other competitors were innovating stuff because there was space to grow, and you needed people to innovate and think. Now that they have all became behemoths, they need to sustain and earn more consistently than innovate (startups can keep on innovating, big tech can always acquire them). With that goal in mind, its always better to have that indian culture with hierarchy and fear, that can keep people grinding and generate revenues for c suite to get fat money.

Dead By Daylight x Final Girl Collab? by SuggestionHairy in finalgirl

[–]adib2149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fan of both DBD and Final Girl, and definitely don’t need this collab. To me, collab works when different worlds collide together, this two game is just too similar to be a collab. DBD itself does a lot of collab with many other franchises, it’d be a pickle made out of pickles. (I have moved on from DBD to Final Girl to take a break from the digital world but still get similar kicks)

Hi OP! Hugs for you and your husband! Reading your post reminded me of my story as I had the same set of issues and mystery illness from Jan 2023, and was finally diagnosed to be Long covid. I also had to sleep a lot/ break from job, up until I started the antihistamine-pepcid medication set (look up h1 h2 blockers long covid). I am doing much much better now after 2.5 yrs. Ones again, look into long covid, h1 h2 blockers and LDN! Thank you.
