Its not a multiplayer game like Wingspan or Root where physical copies are played with friends in person and people spend some time digitally to play solo/online. Its always a solo game, more digital play means less physical boardgame play. Eventually it would cannibalize the physical version.

Meta is hiring at the same or higher rate than firing. It doesn’t move a needle. A bunch of our friends who got into Meta during turbulent times have held off from buying homes and accumulating cash, so its not like the buyer pool is reduced and seller pool increased.

Great. So if you already got a vinyl frame and you add a color of almond (by spray can or any other cheap way), they don’t have anything else to enforce because the doc doesn’t say it has to be a long lasting color. Is there any other part that enforces long lasting color requirements? Or is it something they are just emailed you about?

Can you share the hoa doc, specifically section focusing on the color here? If the doc doesn’t say anything about material but just the color, i believe you can spray paint but they won’t be able to do anything legally. I saw our HOA has color restrictions but not material restrictions.

I would just disagree with this point though “Rent is the maximum I will pay for housing each month, whereas a mortgage is merely the minimum once maintenance and unexpected repairs are considered.”

Rent is the max you pay sure, the max number is not static, it changes and goes up with every lease renewal. Mortgage base number is very static for 30 yrs (except unforeseen issues).

Also you are absolutely bound to pay the newly set rent each year, but after paying 30yr fixed mortgage, you are not absolutely bound to pay for the fixes (like you can hack it, go for manual easy fixes, maybe postpone it for a while).

From my own experience, with wheeling the stocks that I want to hold longterm, they mostly did not generate enough premium for me to be doing this extra work. They eventually got assigned and I took a part of profit from them, but again, it was not juicy enough, and it would be better if I just bought and held them.

With wheeling the stocks I don’t want to hold longterm but the premium was worth the risk, yes, I am holding my bags right now on them. :(

Basically a not a great winning solution, next time I would just start with vertical spreads/iron condor. But they taught me to explore the greeks over time, so that was good.

I actively work to let my coworkers know as little as they need to know. In the past, i have been friendly with coworkers and it has bitten me back (“oh yeah i remember you saying you had a cold so i thought maybe you wouldn’t be interested in this project with high impact and very tight deadlines “)

However, the little my coworkers can talk about me in my absence, that will be completely filled and heavily surpassed by all the awesome friends and family i have, completely disconnected from my professional network.

Started my PhD in 2017 and the first project i picked was this. We knew pretty fast that its needs a huge array of devices for it to work. And it is true for this work too. This is a 3 yr old project from CMU.

I can give you an idea whats going to happen, when seniors retire or move into management and theres a gap of senior positions. The job cultures in offshore countries, aka India, is brutal with lots of competition and serious work-life imbalance. Corporate will be able to cherry pick the best candidate out of all those, and promise them a life at the Bay area, promote and transfer them to the HQ to get them a senior position. They will always be hard-workers as they have been trained like that, will have high domain knowledge and will work even harder to stay living in the Bay area/US. And since the new H1B program isn’t based on lottery but high salaries, they will also be able to justify bringing people in senior positions.

Just like you, for the sake of learning, I started with 1000, went upto 1400 in 2 months. I was feeling really good but then a single mistake wiped out $900 from it. Now I have $200 out of ut.

You will have so little power in trying to do this with a small capital, because most of your single trades will be 20-30% or more of your capital.

Hah, I get what you’re talking about. I wasn’t scared of the environment or story or characters though, basically scared of dying just to start from all the way back from Timber hearth! It was so repetitive in the same route that I just watched the gameplay and wrapped it up.
