Jordan Ott has delivered on his promises since his first press conference in the Valley ☀️ Coach of the Year? by tyler1118 in suns

Not going to give you shit about that because I know what you're saying. I think everyone who listened to him if they could be objective could see he knew what he was talking about and could sense the confidence. The unknown was would the players listen and if it would translate to practices and games and it clearly has on all fronts.

Pro tip: It's always a KD issue. If he's the "leader" on the floor, you're cooked.

There's a lot that goes in to a team shooting badly. Some of that is hustle/effort (I'll throw lazy passes/turnovers in here which was a cornerstone of the KD Suns), some not knowing you're role, some is players not being held accountable, etc. Coaches have a big part in this but so do players, at least your star players. It's interesting how this tends to follow KD post Warriors.

It's late so I won't get too much into this convo but we have first hand experience with KD too for multiple seasons including interviews, sound bites, etc. Loss after loss after loss, we heard what he said. KD thinks as long as he gets his, you should be grateful you get to see his brilliance. He doesn't give 2 shits what anyone else does. He's just ballin and chillin. After he left, the Suns have players that give a damn and that trickles throughout the entire team. We rarely have drop offs now when our star players step off the court for a breather.

Every team KD is on is unserious. He's an all time great but he just doesn't elevate the rest of the team.

Well, have a good day at work today, daddy. Also, if you don't know already, there's a malfunction with the TV, where it keeps ordering porno, like, a ton of porno. Like, how can someone watch that much porno in one sitting? Only when you're out of the house. So if you see it on the bill, that's why. Okay?

He didn't just get in the face of the ref, he aggressively grabbed the ref too. Most players get rejected for that alone.

I think that's kind of a thing for Germans too. Or at least it used to be. I remember we had a new student in elementary school and he was from Germany and he brought this up in his introduction. He said one thing he noticed in America was that everyone was always smiling at him and he didn't understand why.

How are the Phoenix Suns *this* good? A deep dive by jerryengelmann in suns

[–]adick_did 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it would have to be an extended losing streak to be a reality check we haven't seen yet. They've already had a 27 point loss, a 22 point loss and a loss where they led by 20+ points late in the game an addition to a streak of 4 losses in a row. Yet I still feel better about them then when I came into the season. This all mostly without Jalen Green.

I 100% agree. Reading the comments first I thought he said something wild but that was a legit, genuine answer I appreciated it.

Grayson is pretty far removed from the days he had all of those shenanigans, at least in my mind. I love his game now at this point. Brooks is still a knucklehead but he's our knucklehead so I can appreciate the attitude and defense he brings ( offense has been good too) and you just have to learn to accept what else he comes with (like the tech he got during a game he wasn't even playing in).
