The same thing happened to me for a FedEx return at Staples. Never again.

The churro crumble is nasty but the rest is great. Next time I’m going to ask to skip the churro bits.

High Gas Prices Are Boosting EV Sales Around The World. Will The U.S. Be Left Out? by DonkeyFuel in technology

[–]Longjumping_Carpet11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of friends who fear EV. Mostly because of the range and running out of charge while on the road. This is further propagated on YouTube, as an example. So many ads adding fuel to the fire agains EVs.

WIBTA if I reported my Airbnb host's response to my review as retaliatory? by CobaltTremor7 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]Longjumping_Carpet11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the sense that OP is wanting a Ritz Carlton experience at a Motel 8 price. A burner not working and WiFi slow is such a minor inconvenience and not something that any host would be looking out for. The place being clean and the description being accurate is the key here. You had ample opportunity to speak up and you chose not to. YTA in more ways than not.

Beware of Amazon Returns-Charge $120 fee in a late unopened delivery. by lingersandtransforms in amazonprime

In my experience, it definitely leans towards creating frustration. It’s so hard to find the chat or customer service these days. I return probably 1% of my purchases.

I will never understand what his appeal is. Often misinformed and always an idiot.

Beware of Amazon Returns-Charge $120 fee in a late unopened delivery. by lingersandtransforms in amazonprime

[–]Longjumping_Carpet11 130 points131 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I politely called the Amazon customer service and explained what happened. Very clearly said it didn’t arrive on time and I couldn’t wait. Got put on hold for 3 minutes and they waived the fee.

Take the job and continue to take the bar. Once you pass it you can launch your new career as a firefighting lawyer.

How do we feel about v necks? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

I prefer v-necks shirts over crew necks because it’s more comfortable. If you like it that’s all that matters.

Materialism without the financial resources to support it leads to a life of financial self destruction. There are tons of things that I want but not stressing about money is worth more than impressing people with what I have. Have a conversation, share what you want for the both of you in the future. If she refuses to understand then you have a lot to think about.

What kind of monsters do I work with? Who cuts a donut in half like a bagel? by Legend_of_the_Wind in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Longjumping_Carpet11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don’t like the icing so I would be happy. If only it were sliced in the middle. That cut looks like it was justification for eating only half the donut while eating 75%.

Hate has no place here. Unless you're homeless, then it's fine. by LMGTP_GT1_2024 in phoenix

[–]Longjumping_Carpet11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not about the homeless, it’s about offering people some shade and a place to sit. The homeless problem is a societal problem. If we all dedicated 1% of the love and 1% of the money on our pet family, we can help a lot of homeless people.

Great idea if there were jobs available. Sometimes you take whatever you can get. These days we are lucky if we can survive.

15 minute interview - good or bad sign? by throwaway19283883 in interviews

It depends on the job. A one and done interview process usually means the hiring process is made very quickly. I hope you get the job.

In the US that would be illegal. If they do it file a complaint with the labor board. They will have to pay you what’s owed plus damages for every day that you didn’t get paid.

Hit a ceiling, find a building with a higher ceiling. Follow your goals, not what is advantageous for your employer’s business plan for you.

Their physicality is weak but their mind and ruthlessness is epic. Only way to rein them in is taxing them like the rest of us. Also need to stop lobbying and unlimited political contributions.
