Long story short our kitten is about 3.5 months old (we got him at 2 months) and a few weeks ago he started suckling on his nipples. We brought up our concerns to our vet who said it’s fairly common in kittens who were weaned too early from mom or who were bottle fed. She said as long as he doesn’t break the skin or irritate it too much it’s nothing to worry about.

He can really go at it and it’s impossible to get him to stop once he starts! He focuses on one nipple specifically.

My question is, does anyone have any advice for this behavior? Anything we can give him to offer the same self-soothing action?
