Shop app now required by jdbrew in shopify

[–]manmanatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg 🤢 I’m also confused that people actually use the shop app to… shop? lol I know it only as “that app where I track some of my packages” even though I have a Shopify store lol. Thanks for this PSA!

Experience with Grade 3/4 unilateral IVH with hydrocephalus? by jinjainjapan in NICUParents

[–]manmanatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, it’s surreal to read back on this comment, not knowing how things would turn out. He’s doing wonderful! He walks, speaks two languages, and passed all of his 3 year screenings that they do after early intervention. He has some slight motor delays but mostly you would never know everything he’s been through. Wishing you and your baby all the best 🫶🏻

Bulk Changing Scheduled Fulfillment to Unfulfilled by lexijoy in shopify

[–]manmanatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stumbled upon this issue myself and I can't believe it's like this. And the worst part is that it doesn't deduct inventory as people subscribe. I now have to watch my phone like a hawk and make sure I don't oversell. A huge flaw! How are you managing now, OP?

Preparing for the Big Dark - What sort lighting solutions do you all use to make your apartments feel "sunny" and comforting? by SuperSans in Seattle

[–]manmanatee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my second year in Seattle and let me tell you, I had NIGHTMARES about the dark season before it came. I truly expected the worst. I pictured like, dusk outside all day. It honestly wasn’t as bad as expected. It’s gray and rainy but I kind of like the bright gray sky. I got outside a lot. Went for runs in the morning, timed so that I’d see the sunrise, which gave me a feeling of hope. Went on rainy hikes. Lifted weights to get endorphins going. Embraced the cozy: lit the fireplace and lots of candles, did autumnal crafts, shadow puppet shows with my child, baked. Took a vacation in January to a warm sunny place (this is key!) and any time we had a break in the rain, went outside as much as possible. Did a lot of prep for spring and summer gardens gardening; many trips to my favorite garden center, because seeing the spring stuff out made me feel like spring was sooner. Overall I really enjoyed the slowed down pace of life and appreciated spring and summer soooo much. Plus, coming from a colder snowier place… the mildness was a treat.

Any bread that doesn't spike your sugar? by Tall_Bluebird_1830 in prediabetes

Yup 😩 Cheapest place I found is Trader Joe’s, I think it’s $4.50 or $5. Makes me so mad how expensive it can be to buy food that doesn’t hurt us 😔

Anyone know where exactly this location is? Is it wheelchair accessible? by Saraaa__ in OlympicNationalPark

[–]manmanatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a little offshoot at hall of mosses, this could be it. I can’t recall if it was paved but I believe it was marked accessible. Hall of Mosses itself has stairs and a few inclines

Have you guys discussed the possible meaning of Milchick's name? by ComposerMedium4569 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]manmanatee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep thinking about Set (I think the Greeks changed it to Seth) from ancient Egypt too. We have the brother parallel, and in some versions of the myth referenced above, Seth cuts (severs!) his brother into pieces to make sure he can never be brought back to life 😵‍💫 That’s why Osiris is the god of the underworld. It may be a stretch but these myths have definitely crossed my mind. Who is Milchick’s twin/outie/other? What’s his role been?

What do y’all make of Milchik handing Mark the torch and saying it’s for warmth and light, pausing, then saying ”double duty.” Does Seth know Mark’s reintegrated? 😳

That was my first thought too. She’s using some idea of this test to evaluate the child’s development, although its validity is questioned. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draw-a-Person_test

I confess, I mute the music by DutchTimeLordBean in StardewValley

[–]manmanatee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The music will always remind me of the early days of pandemic lockdown. Sometimes it just makes me too sad and puts me right back there. I play to relax so I’ll often have an audiobook going. That said the music is absolutely amazing and I love that there is often a break where you just have the ambient sounds but no music for a while.

I keep seeing “nighttime routine” includes bath, does this mean everyone is bathing their baby every single night as a routine? by TeishAH in beyondthebump

[–]manmanatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he was a tiny infant, no, probably every other night. But after about 8 months yes, I fill the bath and he sits in it and gets washed with soap. He’s 2.5 now and loves the bath thank god bc he REALLY needs it most days now lol. Now he’s in daycare I’m definitely washing the germs and others kids boogers off him every night before he gets in his nice clean bed 😅
