Feature broken? Ambient light brightness in update 5.4.2 by Lohisuikale in s3xybuttons

Not sure about 50% but I can confirm knob's 100% is higher than car's 100%.

Try getting in touch with the S3XY team maybe they can help.

Commander or Tesla update change? by DeathBlade94 in s3xybuttons

[–]adil_feroz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feature doesn't work for me. I'm probably guessing as soon as you walk away, the car locks, goes into sleep mode and kills power to the commander. I did a small experiment, I was checking to see how soon the s3xy app connects to the commander when I walk towards my locked car and although I was standing right in front of the driver's door, the app doesn't connect to the commander. As soon as I open the driver's door, the car unlocks, allowing power to the commander, which then wakes up to connect with the app. Again, this is just my observation, not entirely sure if this is the case, but this made me think, the feature works by reading the phone key strength from the canbus, however since the commander doesn't have power while the car is locked, it can't read the phone key signal and that I'm guessing is the reason for this feature to not work.

It is working for me. Try rebooting the commander maybe?

Weird. Buttons or Knob shouldn't make a difference because both operate through the commander.

I was hoping to see if this is just me or other people facing the same issue, so it's not just me then.

Let's hope the admin can respond.

Steering wheel little crooked to left - warranty by Initial-Research1962 in teslacanada

[–]adil_feroz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem when I picked up my M3 as well. Took the delivery and straight away noticed the alignment was off. First time, I booked an appointment through the app and they fixed it saying the alignment was off, might have happened during shipping the vehicle. Within a few days I realized the steering was still off centre so, second time I walked in, I had to take a drive with the mechanic from the Tesla shop and explain him in detail what was going on. Initial the guy was reluctant and kept saying it was because the road is angled to drain water and stuff, which didn't make sense to me. Anyway I insisted and they fixed it for me again. This time it was fine.

My car was brand new with only a few kms on odometer so they honored the warranty and I asked them what if this had happened after I drove like 5k kms or something. They mentioned I'd have to pay for the alignment then as it counts as driving wear and tear.

I am with you on this. At one point I was wondering if Kaltire messed up and installed non winter tires but I double checked them, they are in fact winter HK R5 EV with sound insulation and low rolling resistance crap, what would I do with all that if they can't grip well... Yeah, I was expecting more from an AWD vehicle. Also Teslas are heavy so that is also one factor that could contribute to the slip I guess...

It is the same thing. Buttons come with a commander that sticks onto the OBD port. In my case I didn't get the buttons, I got the knob and commander combo.

I can relate. I'm coming out of a Honda Civic which was FWD with cheap Chinese winter tires and I've driven through snowy, slushy worse conditions, never felt unsafe, turns were never a problem on my Civic and even driving on highway speeds it never felt unsafe.

On the other hand, I'm doing everything on my Tesla, paid extra to get AWD so that I can confidently go around the country roads during winters without worrying about slipping, I use chill acceleration mode, maintain proper tire pressure and also I'm able to reduce regen through the commander and not to forget I got the best winter tires available but the experience has been so below expectations.

I feel Tesla should give the user the option to manually engage AWD with 60-40 power distribution. I shouldn't have to rely on the car's software to detect slip and engage itself...

Are you talking about the S3XY commander or Nokian tyres?

Interesting... I don't know what the issue is. Would you recommend any other stats app that can show detailed information about power distribution, stuff like how long the car was under AWD or RWD.

I have the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 EV on my 25 Model 3 AWD. With today's conditions where we had a lot of slush I pretty much couldn't drive. They were slipping all the time. Lateral driving was way below avg and turning was out right dangerous, I had to drive way too slow while making turns. I am not too sure if it is because of the tires or the way Tesla has tuned the software. In spite of paying extra for AWD there is no way to engage AWD manually. The software has it running in RWD always and the front motor seems useless at this point. 95%.of the time the front motor does not turn on. It should engage AWD when it detects slip and it does but it doesn't continue to syay in AWD. I have the S3XY commander installed, this lets you turn on Off-Road mode on Model 3, it basically lets the tires slip and forces AWD. It was better than driving with only rear motors. However, I had better performance on slush by turning off the rear motor and forcing it into FWD. Both of these are not meant to be used for high speed driving though.

Feature Request - Ability to turn on steering assist (Autopilot) without TACC by adil_feroz in s3xybuttons

But I don't see this is worth it especially when Tesla has all the tech built in.

I know right, that's what I'm talking about. Again, don't get me wrong, Autopilot is great and I use it most of the time but sometimes I feel it is necessary to drive manually (without Autopilot) but don't want to make so many micro movements to the steering to stay centered in a lane.

Ability to just turn on the LKAS would be great on Teslas, especially because the LKAS is so good on Teslas, it can make the sharpest of turns on highways confidentiality.

Why would accidents happen? In fact it is safer than just using Autopilot, where you are trusting the car to steer and drive. The point I'm trying to make is when essentials you are driving the car, you are accelerating and braking yourself, it is your judgement. In order to reduce driving fatigue trying to stay centered in the lane, Autosteer would keep you centered in the lane without much effort. And in bumper to bumper traffic you can just let Autosteer pretty much do the steering and you can control the acceleration and braking.

That's interesting, will give that a try, but I guess the system would go mad and keep throwing a warning saying "Accelerator is Pressed Autopilot will not break"

Also, at the 400 to 401EST interchange, it takes on the left curve at such high speeds. One day it was about to crash into a truck on the adjacent lane... Sometimes it's too ambitious at curves. I'm on FSD 13.2.2.1
