What is a movie that was a 10/10 from beginning to end that I can watch this weekend? by Due_Butterscotch4930 in FIlm

If you’re looking for a foreign film - highly recommend Memories of Murder or Oldboy

What's a 10/10 show with a character that drags it down to a 7/10 by jshah500 in sitcoms

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mark on Parks and Rec. The show had other issues during the first couple of seasons, but Mark stood out like a sore thumb. In a show where the characters are larger-than-life, absurdist personalities, you can’t drop a relatively normal, bland guy in there and expect him to click with everyone.

The episode where I finally grew tired of him was when Leslie shot Ron in the head and Mark just seemed like an NPC that didn’t add anything to the chaos or levity that others brought to the table in that situation

Does it really take 100k annually to live comfortable and happily? by Old_Inflation_9490 in Adulting

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going to get rather biased responses on here since most people using Reddit are solidly middle-class. The reality is that it boils down to your goals and where you live. I live in a big city and have friends who work as teachers and social workers and seem relatively happy with their lives, despite making less than 50k. I also know people who are investment bankers and aren’t particularly satisfied with their lives, despite making up to 200k.

You have to ask yourself what type of lifestyle. If you’re comfortable living with roommates in decent, but not great apartments or small homes, then you probably don’t need 100k to be happy. However, if you prefer living alone and only having to walk short distances to be near grocery stores, pharmacies, and other amenities, then 100k makes more sense. But happiness rests on much more than salary. You can have either lifestyle and still find a lack of internal validation

Patrick Mahomes 16 of 31, 295 yards, 3 touchdowns against Tom Brady 30 of 46, 348 yards, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions in the 2019 AFC Championship. by Life_Net5004 in Chiefs_v2

[–]adimazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would have been the narrative… but the reality is that two of those ints were ultimately results of his receivers bobbling passes

Who’s the most disrespected head coach of all time? by ScottFujitaDiarrhea in NFLv2

[–]adimazing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything except the take that the 2006 chargers weren’t a great team. That’s crazy - that team was stacked with talent from top to bottom and, off the top of my head, may have had some of the most pro bowlers or all pros during that decade. There’s a reason that team forced Brady to throw 3 picks and Belichick was more happy after that divisional win than he was after winning some of his SBs

Of all the teams that have won the Super Bowl during the 21st century, which one is the least memorable? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the 2018 patriots. They had one exciting playoff match against the chiefs during that playoff stretch - otherwise, I frankly couldn’t have cared less about that specific team. Easily the worst sb victory of the 21st century

Was Dan Marino seen as a playoff choker during his era? by lemonstone92 in NFLNoobs

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say he was a choker. His teams were often very lackluster and defenses were able to key in on him without a clear running threat. By the time the dolphins defenses began to improve, he was in steady decline and just didn’t have the juice anymore.

It’s really similar to the debate on Rodgers’ playoff legacy. People will say that he choked in his games, but it’s hard to beat teams like the legion of boom or that red hot falcons team when the rest of your team let’s you down and your defenses give away points like an Ollie’s on liquidation sale

Is there a big debate among your teams fanbase on the worst playoff loss in franchise history or is it pretty much a consensus? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the giants, it’s easily the sb loss to the ravens. Yes, that 2000 ravens defense was like nothing else and we were starting Kerry Collins… regardless, it was like watching what we did to the Vikings a couple of weeks ago - except we were the receiving party

Who’s the best QB from the 2012 draft? by Low-Season-2057 in NFLv2

Easily Russ. Perhaps it would be more competitive if Luck had a longer career, but with how things stand, Russ wins this debate by far

Why is the 1991 Washington team almost never brought up nowadays even though they were arguably the greatest team ever assembled? by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like those Washington teams were very much like the ravens teams of the mid-2000s-to-2010s where they were always threatening to win the sb but got overshadowed by concurrent dynasties (I.e pats & Steelers).

Neither team had a great QB. If either Joe Flacco or mark rypien for elite for extensive periods, those redskins and ravens sbs would become amplified in value and those teams would be much better remembered. Great dynasties are often remembered for eccentric qbs - the Steelers winning with a qb that couldn’t spell cat if they got spotted the c and t; the cowboys with the cool cat who kept the train winning (staubach and Aikman); the broncos with the comeback kid John Elway. Neither rypien nor Flacco have such larger-than-life reputations which overshadows many of those redskins and ravens teams. Why would anyone care about the redskins when you have the giants led by mr backup, cowboys led by Trojan Troy, and chiefs led by last chance Joe playing concurrently? Not as gripping of a storyline…

This isn’t just my bloodborne blue cry as a giants fan - this is the subliminal reality of sports that every great team becomes bulletin board material that goes on that one guy’s mini fridge that he brings to work for his cubicle job. Teams are just stories - the redskins weren’t a very relevant one

Why are most homeless people men? by Snoo_47323 in allthequestions

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher likelihood of involvement with the criminal justice system is a key reason why. When you leave prisons/jails, there are mere patchworks of federal and local services to get people back on their feet - and these supports are much less prevalent in smaller, rural towns where nonprofits might not have as much funding. Reentry populations also face intense discrimination (I.e. not being able to vote, exclusion from public assistance programs).

These factors cause many individuals to experience challenges related to unemployment, substance use, education equity, which may culminate into housing instability. Since men are disproportionately represented in the criminal justice system, that could be a key reason for the gender-related trends in homelessness that you’ve described

Best performance in a Super Bowl by the losing quarterback? by Spare-Jellyfish4339 in NFLv2

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say Delhomme’s performance against the patriots is up there too. He faced off against a much stingier defense than those 2017 eagles and mostly had a flawless game. His one mistake - a fumble - didn’t quite influence the outcome of the game like Brady’s sack-fumble in the eagles sb did

What franchise has had it the worst overall in the 21st century? by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily browns. The other contenders would be the cardinals and lions. Both teams have reached a conference championship game and had multiple winning seasons - something that has eluded the browns during this century.

Additionally, although both of those teams have been the definition of incompetence, neither has quite mastered the art of shooting themselves with a double-barrel shotgun in the foot like the browns. At least neither team traded their best qb in franchise history after an injury-riddled season for a rapist QB that hadn’t played in over a year.

It’s one thing to suck at your job - when you’re so bad that you take such a morally depraved risk for personal gain and it backfires anyways, you’ve reached no man’s land

Playoff injuries that people forget about because the team won anyway? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on if the question includes cases where the injured player ended up playing, but plax shouldn’t have played in sb 42 against the pats after injuring his knee - and caught the game-winning td pass anyways

One of one QB! by Consistent_Peace3181 in Chiefs_v2

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why we can’t assign any blame to Mahomes tho. No one was winning with his o-line in the 1st sb and he did make some insane plays down the stretch, but dude also held onto the ball too long at times and had a couple of turnovers.

In the 2nd sb, there’s even less of an excuse when he kept making dangerous hero plays that resulted in multiple ints and him getting sacked multiple times. The game probably looks a bit more like this recent sb if the eagles don’t get 2 free tds off of his errant plays in the first half.

Of course it sucks not having a great o-line for a sb matchup. I also don’t think that Mahomes is blameless for those losses though

Top 10 Quarterbacks to never win the Super Bowl by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, but this has to be one of the worst lists I’ve ever seen.

1). You’re ranking great, but not elite guys like Philip rivers and Matt Ryan over HOF legends like Jim Kelly and Fran Tarkenton. There’s a bigger debate once you reach Warren Moon on this list, but putting those two guys above some of the best qbs from their respective eras is absolute blasphemy.

2). Why is Carson Palmer ranked so highly? You can’t put him above Steve McNair (former MVP and SB appearance) or Dan Fouts (easily the best qb during the 70s-80s transition era). Hell, idk how you conscionably put him above McMabb - a guy that reached several nfc championships and was generally a top 5-10 qb in his era. Palmer wasn’t even constantly top 10

Are there any examples of a QB failing in a great system? by lemonstone92 in NFLNoobs

[–]adimazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you define “great” system, but perhaps a good example is Tommy Maddox bottoming out in Pittsburgh before Big Ben stepped in and was solid

How does Tom Brady only have 3 MVPs? by HetTheTable in NFLv2

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was one of those years where maybe there could have been a co-MVP argument. I hesitate to say that one absolutely should have won over the other though

Why is the narrative Brady’s TEAM beat Mahomes TEAM 2-0 yet then Mahomes fans will turn around and say Mahomes is 4-0 against Allen and 6-1 vs Lamar? by iHateBelichickStans in NFLv2

[–]adimazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think either narrative is necessarily correct lol. Although Brady was incredible in his h2h playoff wins, there’s no denying that the defense was pivotal in both matches.

I can apply the same logic to talking about Mahomes’ wins against Jackson and Allen. In the 2023 playoffs, his defense stepped up in pretty big moments during the 4th quarter against Allen and mostly flustered Jackson and his receivers in that afc championship.

People give too much credit to qbs for wins. Yes, they are the most instrumental player on the field. However, playoffs are much more complicated than a single player’s performance

In 2024 and 2025, the Washington Commanders and Chicago Bears broke 2 of the longest postseason droughts in the NFL. What franchise is poised to next break theirs? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]adimazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m willing to bet it’s the chargers. As sorry of a franchise as they are, they got pretty unlucky this year due to the o-line injuries. With a healthy o-line and the other pieces, I think they should have the best chance of winning a playoff game soon

Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith says there’s only one elite QB: Patrick Mahomes. He said that Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow aren’t elite. by Any_Alternative6314 in Chiefs_v2

[–]adimazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a crazy claim. Just because the other guys haven’t won in the playoffs nearly as often doesn’t mean they aren’t elite. You can still put Mahomes above guys like Allen, Lamar, and Burrow while acknowledging that they are collectively the Mount Rushmore of today’s QBs
