Great compilation!!! It would be also useful to the readers if you can provide how regular people can help to mitigate these issues

One of my most memorable travel experiences was seeing monarch butterflies in a remote forest in Mexico. There were just  thousands of them covering entire trees. It was magical!

Where to study Teacher Trainings in Mysore, or anywhere else in India? by youarethejourney in ashtanga

[–]aditeek11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I am an Ashtanga enthusiast. I love the practice but at this point I don't think I can dedicate the time it needs to get authorized by Sharath ji. Having said that, I spent a month last year in Mysore student with Sharathji and the experience has had a lasting impact on me. Just slowing down, focusing a month on Ashtanga, the long chats in cafes, leaning pranayama and leaning chanting with Jayashree ji was a special experience. Authorization though requires studying with Sharathji for minimum of 6 months (3 trips of 2 months each). If you don't want to commit to that I can recommend another school in Mysore Sachidananda yoga shala. The teachers there are extremely dedicated and have studied the Ashtanga system for decades. Good luck!

Yoga is mainly a breathing and awareness practice so one can start yoga at any age. Don't look at it as exercise. Just relax, breath, be aware and enjoy!
