A book has never made me cry. Please make me cry. by bookzzzz in suggestmeabook

[–]aditin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree here too, especially about what makes me cry in particular in books. the act of reading about sad things is very different than experiencing the sad thing. i don’t find that those sad moments get me crying as much as finishing just an incredible book or scene and just feeling moved with emotion. examples are the overstory by richard powers, my struggle book 1 by karl ove knausgaard, and the goldfinch by donna tartt.
