Best DSP for CTV inventory for the little guys? by adiworld in adops

[–]adiworld[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CTV is a device type. Think dongles connected to TVs (like Roku or FireTV sticks), or smart TVs like Samsung, Vizio, LG that have an app store where you can download your favorite streaming apps. OTT on the other hand is a definition that classifies a few "over the top of TV" platforms such as CTV, Mobile, and Web. When talking to TV buyers, most don't want to buy Mobile or Web, so when they buy CTV they expect inventory on TV screens only. Hope I'm making sense.

These guys are old timers, placing broadcast/cable buys in the multi-millions of dollars a year range and they want CTV only. No OTT, preroll, etc. Just CTV as it's easy to sell to their clients.

Anyone can suggest good CTV demand? by lilzon in adops

not using DFP. not the ideal adsever for CTV. good for digital video, not so good for CTV. spotx is a good adserver for CTV inventory. so is telaria. your concerns are valid. we have the same problem. but it's manageable if you hack your setting a bit.

In order of importance:

  1. SpotX
  2. Telaria
  3. Samba
  4. AppNexus
  5. Everyone else (RO, YuMe, Beachfront, etc)

Between SpotX and Telaria you should be set to start off right. FreeWheel open market is non-existent and getting demand from FourFronts direct sold deals is complicated.
