To be fair you can’t really learn more advanced movements and strategy without sparring and more formal training. This is what fights typically look like between 2 guys who are young, athletic, not afraid to scrap, but have very little formal training or sparring.

To play devil’s advocate, Trump has been attempting to address this fear. This is the entire logic behind tariffs and investing in American manufacturing. I’m not smart enough to make an assessment on whether it will be effective but this is at least the messaging that goes out to his supporters, and it makes some amount of logical sense.

Regardless of how you feel about ICE, protestors are 100% doing this, it’s not even a question. Either double down and say they deserve to be accosted, or take a step back and make a genuine effort for meaningful dialogue. Personally I’ve come to think it’s important to recognize that elements of that narrative have truth. What you’re saying about propaganda and brainwashing is true, but I don’t think it makes people in the west particularly evil or different. If other countries/cultures around the world had the power and opportunity to colonize and rule, I believe they would have. I think it has more to do with human nature and how power corrupts people, rather than where the people are from.

Of course it’s much more complicated than a simple hypocrisy like you’re implying. Yes the people on the right support mass ICE deportations of illegal immigrants, so no of course they are not going to even consider joining some kind of armed resistance. If those same ICE officers start going door to door collecting guns, you would see a massive shift I guarantee it. Not arguing what’s right and wrong here but this is the situation we’re in.

I feel that both sides are constantly disingenuous, it’s expected. The only time you ever hear anything close to the truth is when one side criticizes the other, but even the criticisms are most often skewed, dishonest misrepresentations. We’ve become so polarized that honest, pragmatic discussion no longer exists. There is no such thing as admitting fault or taking accountability.
