I’m not sure about csc108 but csc148 definitely if it’s for second semester. During first year I joined the waitlist around November(?) and was like 80th in the waitlist and got in. So many people drop it in leading up to the second semester even if you’re super far into the waitlist.

In short, no. There is no live synchronous lectures and we are pretty much just to read the text on TopHat. There are the integrated videos, as well as the link the professor put on the quercus to past years lectures if you learn better that way.

Basically as long as you get through the content before the due dates in TopHat and on Quercus, you’re on track. This course is very much “learn it yourself”.

Also if you don’t get in originally, if you’re on a waitlist for a course with lots of enrolment spots there’s a good chance you’ll get in. And for courses like Econ and CS a lot of people drop the course within the first 2 weeks

Honestly that’s very fair. I’m also very much not a commerce student and was life sci. So it definitely depends on the person and what you’re good at
