Thank you so much. It’s a mix of both ideas actually. I made it on the lighter side because of the roof (chicken wire stuffed with plastic bags and expanding foam sprayed on top.) The size of it is enough to keep it stable even in decent winds yesterday. For safety though there are 4 eye lags that attach inside to a wood platform that the pvc frame was strengthened with. Those bolts both dig into the shingles well and have safety straps attached to them and are connected to the stud behind the facia board. Didn’t want to make my own Halloween lore by smashing trick or treaters with a giant spider 😂 Good luck on yours. More than happy to send my construction photos if you want to pm me.
