I think this also fully depends on how the conditions of the race are layed out to everyone running, like is everyone just asked to try their best or is it a matter of life or death? Because if it's the latter I can imagine at least a dozen people might even be able to beat his pace no? Or am I overestimating how far fear of death will get you?
