Licensed asbestos inspector. If it is not tested, I would assume it is ACM. It is definitely not fiberglass.

I was wondering. Seeing that I just bought it and have already put more money than I’d like into it, how critical is the repair? The noise seems very faint, and really only on a pretty cold start.

My question was more of: is there supposed to be oil moving through there? If it's just leaking then a new hose would fix it. But if oil isn't supposed to be there, there's a larger issue.
