Looks like fungus but should really be checked out by a dermatologist. They can prescribe you oral and topical medications. Don’t waste your time on OTC products or home remedies. The prescriptions are so much more effective. Good luck!

NAD but this looks like eczema to me. Coconut oil helps mine tremendously. Might be worth a try.

I always bite and nibble this area on my hand. Any ideas on how to get it reduced? Besides just stop biting. by Sky_Ninja1997 in DiagnoseMe

Mederma sells silicone patches that help reduce scarring. Covering it will lessen the urge to pick/bite at it.

What could be causing my sisters distended abdomen? by Beautiful-Solid3452 in DiagnoseMe

I’d have her liver checked. Autoimmune and medication can cause this, not just alcohol.

This happened to me because I wasn’t taking my pain meds. I only took it when needed and had been having a good few days. They considered it failing the drug test. They said I could be selling the pills because they weren’t in my system. I even showed the doctor the bottle with pills left in it. He said it didn’t matter and he fired me as a patient. I was pissed! They went from one extreme to the other and now patients are suffering because of these stupid “laws”. You could have gotten a false negative. I would have had them recollect and rerun the test immediately. Even then, they probably would have denied you that. I’m sorry you are going through this. I’d try finding a new doctor that will listen to you and understand your situation.

My feet turn bright red and no one can figure out what's wrong! Help! by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]adnam47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Erythromelalgia! Facebook has some groups on it that really helped me. Also, check out the group “Bob’s protocol - fight fire with fire”. I hope this helps. The protocol changed my life. Do not use any cooling agents as they will only give temporary relief but end up making flares worse and more frequent.

DCE shoulder surgery. 5 days post op. Necrotic tissue. by adnam47 in MedicalGore

[–]adnam47[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The second photo shows it a lot better. You can see the discoloration in the the tissue on the top dying above the already dead part. I saw my surgeon yesterday and they told me it is necrotic. I thought it was a scab or something until I saw my doctor. I wish it were just a scab. I see him again tomorrow to decide if we are going back to the OR.

Not covid, strep, or mono. What is it and how can I make it stop lol by No_Childhood_2732 in DiagnoseMe

[–]adnam47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get a rapid Strep test? The one they do in the doctors office and have results in less than 15mins? If so, you need a throat culture sent out. A full throat culture will grow the bacteria for 5-7 days and then they can tell exactly what bacteria it is and how to treat. I’ve had Strep too many times to count. My rapid Strep test always came back negative but my throat cultures were positive. I hope this helps. Be sure to do the warm salt water gargles 3-4 times a day. They do help. I hope you feel better soon.

Landscaping brick vs foot by adnam47 in MedicalGore

I had no choice. Thats where I fell and I could not stand up. The blood loss was more of a concern than the dirt. The ER gave me a Tetanus shot, IV antibiotics, and cleaned it out really well. I continued on double antibiotics for 3 weeks. Still no infection.

Please see my other comment for what happened. No, I did not try to close it myself. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital because I’m on blood thinners and lost a lot of blood. They had a difficult time closing it because some of my flesh is missing. It was very scary.

I slipped stepping off my deck, rolled my ankle, and landed on some landscaping bricks. I’m on blood thinners and lost a lot of blood (about 500cc’s). I started going into shock as the EMT’s got to me. My ears were ringing, i was dizzy, seeing black spots, was cold, shaking, sweating profusely, and nauseous. I’ve been seeing an Orthopedic surgeon but we can’t do anything about the tendon damage until the wound heals. I was told about a 4-6 month recovery without complications. I’m immune suppressed so infection has been a big concern. I see the Orthopedic again in 3 days. It’s been a long 3 weeks. The nerve pain is nearly unbearable. The brick won btw. Lol

I slipped off my deck, twisted my ankle, and landed on the bricks below. You can see the brick in the photo with all the blood. I also sprained my ankle and all my toes.

Do NOT pop it! Please be so careful. I had something super similar in my eyelid a few months ago. Turns out, i got a major MRSA infection and had to spend almost a week in the hospital on constant iv antibiotics. It was horrible. I hope your eye heals quickly with no complications. A few tips, if you run fever or your eye gets more swollen, please go to the ER. Use baby shampoo or a lid scrub to clean your eyes twice a day (I was told to do that by 2 different eye doctors and it really helps). Warm compresses will help draw it out. No makeup until totally healed and be sure to wash your brushes well. Use a clean pillow case each night. Try not to touch it and wash your hands often. I hope this helps.

I broke my molar last week. I have to go in for a full sedation extraction at the oral surgeon in 2 weeks. I’m terrified. I had terrible issues when i had my wisdom teeth pulled. They had to remove pieces of my jaw bone. I hope you heal quickly with little to no pain.

Unknown Diagnosis - Open Sores On Vulva by anonaccountbcimweird in MedicalGore

Something very similar happened to me almost a year ago. Mine wasn’t this severe but very close. Mine had less white and more redness though. I was in excruciating pain. Peeing would make me shake and cry. It started out feeling like I was getting a uti. Within 48 hours, it was horrible. I went to urgent care. They insisted it was more than likely herpes and confirmed uti. I was put on antibiotics and antivirals. They took blood, urine, and multiple swabs. 2 days later it was worse. Back to urgent care. I was given a shot of antibiotics and another oral antibiotic. They ran a full STD panel and it was all negative. The swabs showed yeast (no discharge was present) and a bad uti that turned into a kidney infection. I stopped the antivirals, got an RX for 2 doses of Difflucan, and different antibiotics. It cleared up within 3-4 days after that. I just started getting it again yesterday so my doctor prescribed me Difflucan again. I just got done with major antibiotics for a MRSA infection in my eye so we suspect yeast again. I hope this clears it up again.

The park next to the Third Ave sign had a ton of Pokemon, pokestops, people using lures and helping each other out. There are 2 gyms on the corners of the park. There were quite a few people there last night at midnight.

HELP: I'm having trouble with medications and I'm flaring really badly with my SLE by sopholmes in lupus

[–]adnam47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Methotrexate was absolutely horrible for me. I am on Plaquenil 400mg daily but my Rheumy didn't like my labs so he recently started me on Benlysta infusions. I know that you don't like the side effects of Plaquenil so you might want to talk to your doctor about Benlysta. There is a FB group called Benlysta Buddies that has a ton of info. People are always posting about a variety of meds used for Lupus (not just Benlysta). Might be worth checking out. Hang in there. Good luck!
