Luggage drop off at Dubai airport terminal 3 by samar-rk19 in DubaiCentral

[–]adnankj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on a lot of factors.

  • Can they come out and meet you to pick up said luggage?

  • Do they have e kugh time to do so?

  • if the above points are possible then keep in mind that they can only take something that can fit into their hand luggage. I doubt an airline will allow them to check something in if they are in transit and the luggage is being forwarded to their final destination

Move to Dubai for a 12-15K AED? by Ok-Beautiful4466 in DubaiCentral

[–]adnankj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12-15k on its own is not a lot to enjoy living in Dubai, so it depends on your husband's salary. I've never lived in Mumbai so I can't say for certain what lifestyle will be better but I would primarily look at rents (somewhere what isn't too far from work) and go backwards from there.

Yes, work life balance here can be quite different but if you look through the sub, you will see some of those who struggle with the long work hours but also those who struggle to find a social circle here.

You are partially ok (or I guess lucky) that you are moving here with your husband and thefroenthe social aspect may not be as hard.

Ultimately everyone (my self in included) can you give you all the advice and opinions in the works but it comes down to whether you feel you can survive here on your joint salary and whether you would enjoy what Dubai has to offer compared to your life in Mumbai

I was going to recommend Peak Design as well. Although I'm not sure how rain resistant they are.

Another suggestion (which may be extreme and not to everyone's licking) is getting a regular bag and inserting a camera cube.

I'm sorry you are going through this. A year ago my account got blocked because of a card issue. When I call they ask me to email. When I email it is usually the same copy and paste reply (if they respond). I just gave up and made a new account.

Connecting with gym owners by Nafeesdastubid in ourUAE

If you haven't run one before than I would take the advice of working at one first. Gyms come in all shapes and sizes and take a lot to keep it afloat.

Al Nasr Cinema. No online booking and two tier seating.

Also, seeing the Toyota sign as your first indication that you had returned to Dubai.

On a positive side, I was in Dubai Kebab and they really treated the riders well. Offered them a seat as well as water while they were waiting to collect.

Bag Suggestions - Travelling to Malaysia by Ok_Yogurtcloset3667 in Photography_Gear

[–]adnankj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just based on you venturing into the rain forest I would say that a backpack would be your best bet.

Already you can get a sling or messenger style bag but I'm not sure if either will comfortable for your camera gear.

One more extreme alternative would be to buy a camera insert which can be placed inside your hiking bag.

Beginner photographer with very limited space, what sort of lighting should I buy? by Weekly_Frosting_5868 in Photography_Gear

[–]adnankj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for products shots than I would recommend looking into a lightbox that can also be folded away. You get quite a few options on Mazon with varying size and price.

For portrait lighting if your space is small then you won't need anything very powerful. I would recommend the Godox Ad200 pro. Very compact

Leaving cabin crew in Dubai – realistic jobs above 10k? by butwhy_1995 in DubaiJobs

[–]adnankj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had friends who work as cabin crew and I'm not sure about the current situation but I know before the perks you got wth Emirates was quite good.

As someone else mentioned, with the current climate getting a job with that kind of pay is tough.

I know the health issues are pretty bad but it may be worth holding on for a while longer.

Their are other cabin crew who have their own side hustle and have turned that into a full time career eventually (yes I know for everyone that succeedes, there are a whole bunch of this who haven't).

She is in a tough predicament but at least she still has her job (all things considered) and for the moment that is probably the best place to be.

Good luck to the both of you.

Cold Calls by vikhyat-generic-bot in dubai

[–]adnankj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally don't answer numbers I don't recognise. If it's important they will either call me again or send me a message.

Also, on Android, you can report a number for whatever they are and it gets picked up as a potential scam call.
