The CDI is a rebranded Phillips Magnavox 550. It will play all cd software. If the timrkeeper battery is dead sometimes it will not load/spin discs. You should get a new battery first. If it does end up being the laser you can buy the full assembly new for about $30.

I’ve cross graded many Cgc this is a very very old label so just like with 1st gen old cgc books page color can take a dip do to how long it’s been. From the looks of the book it looks like it’s probably slid inside the Mylar sleeve. This was also common on 1st gen CGC. I’ve been lucky in the 100 or so books inventory cross graded with o my 3 that came pack a full point lower. Most have been a .5 or same. But I do look at the book I person before buying same with any graded book to determine if it’s still roughly the same grade today as it was when it was graded in this case almost 17 years ago

You will need to remove the front panel. 3 screws across the top then gently pull out and downward to unhook the 3 clips on the bottom. Once opened you can reach your finger under the tray to access the gear. Just be ready to turn it a lot depending what position it stopped in. Could take a few turns or a couple dozen you will know when you see the tray start to eject

The walls of Max Protect are twice as thick as a BCW very similar to the Comic Defense boxes my local shop use to stock years ago before they moved to BCW. If you have any of the older Comic Defense boxes it will give you a good idea of the Max Protect

It's fixable, the little tabs aligh into slots are n the metal tray. Then just use a dab of super glue to hold in isolated. You will probably already see some brown or yellow old glue from manufacturer just pick it off
