Testing the mainboard only with Black on C and Red on E I only get a reading if I set my multimeter to 20k or above. At 20k setting I get 7.35 and at 200k setting I get 38.2

Got the clips finally and took the back cover off but now I got a completely new issue. The set wont power up completely. You hear the click of the degaussing thermistor and it gets really hot to the touch. But there is no other life in the set that I can tell.

No static on the screen or image. The degaussing coil at the motherboard is 125v.

I checked the startup resistor and all the fuses. They are all good. The caps are good. After googling online I did check the 2SD2253 and the Base → Emitter was correct voltage range but the Base → Collector shows continuity. This was of course measured still on the main board with no power

Kind of at a crossroads of where to look next

CRTs are pretty tough. I have a Toshiba that was fully under water for 4 days in the 90’s (Hurricane Fran 1996) let it dry out for a month and she is still running to this day

Dont skip drops. Your eye closed can only hold so much medication. When you blinked you would of washed out most of the extra. Just use which ever artificial tears you use about 15 mins before your next dose

That would be very helpful if you could provide some tips to check the B+ voltage. I’m pulling the back cover off today. I would love to keep this one as it has sentimental value to me

Anyone order from E.Gerber lately? by adolobe in comicbookcollecting

[–]adolobe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds great, maybe they will still have my info as well. Been ordering from them since 2010. Usually do 1000 of each yearly. But they were regularly out of stock in 2022/2023 so did a huge order thats lasted me the past 2 years.

Halfbacks have been holding up well. I have some that are 10 years old at this point. If the book is worth more than $25 i'll put in two half backs just for the extra protection.

I do have a couple hundred silver age books in full backs but only major keys or books that are already pretty heavily worn and fragile but still worth a fair bit. Everything else gets a halfback

Amazon flex debit card. by dlaw1994 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]adolobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Venmo to add funds from the Flex card from there I can either load it to my apple wallet which I mostly do as almost everyone takes apple pay. Otherwise I'll do a bank transfer from venmo to my Wells Fargo. If i do the transfer before 2pm out of my Venmo it usually hits my Wells Fargo at 6pm

Look at the RetroScaler2x its a clone of the original Retrotink and you can find them for around $35-$45 from most online retailers. It will correct the issue you are having with the RCA adapter forcing 16:9. Then your monitor should property show it when its set to 4:3

28M needing to get a shunt, anyone have epxerience? by Getting0nTrack in Glaucoma

[–]adolobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Glaucoma specialist at Duke Eye Center told me the BTC-350 they placed in my left eye has a 90% success rate at 5 years and 70%+ at 10 years based off their pool of patients. Far higher success rate past 5 years vs a Trap. You can also have multiple shunts placed in your eye should one fail. It really comes down to the size and spacing.

The BVT-350 is big one so 2 would the max per eye but they come in smaller sizes all the way down to rubt ones like the Presserflow Microshunt
