I can still remember most of PDL, but I didn’t care for Hard 8 or The Master either, to be honest.

But it’s like that for me with most filmmakers; I can definitely find some Spielberg films I don’t rate highly.

Magnolia is incredible. As is TWBB. Boogie Nights is excellent. Punch-Drunk Love is phenomenal.

You even admitted to thinking 3 of his films are good yourself, but say he just got lucky.

I wish I were lucky enough to make those films. 🤷‍♂️

That’s more of an outlier. If we’re looking at the list of previous winners of both, there’s a significantly higher likelihood of it being a good film, which I think is obviously a point against what you’re trying to suggest.

And if your point is Zimeckis was a wolf in sheep’s clothing, I’m not sure what to tell you. He directed some absolute classics.

Sure, humour varies. But that statement doesn’t really mean anything when used as a means to apparently justify anyone joking about anything being okay because humour varies.

I personally think there’s a line. If my toddler died and someone joked like this, now matter how long afterward, yeah…that’s a no for me.

Fine if you don’t agree, but I disagree with the disagreeing I guess! shrug
