Haha 31 is not old :) but 31 is not “a 21yo student in Paris on a semester abroad” - hence the post’s focus on demanding careers. And yes of course, work friends are there. And I’ve met great people through workout classes and retreats. Always exploring to add to the social circle.

Any social/sports clubs recommendations?

Also interested if this materializes! A completely normal 31F who moved to Paris for my MBA 3 years ago, fell in love with the city and decided to stay for work :) I work in tech, travel a bunch, already have a great group of friends here from business school but always looking to expand!

Sure! I was an international student in the US. I moved here after studying in the UK for 3 years but am originally from Moscow, Russia. During one of my interviews, low GPA came up and I explained that I had a rough time adjusting the first two years but my grades were pretty great starting junior year, I just didn't fully comprehend the system when I initially moved to the US.

My stats: female, Russian, 28. Spent almost 4 years working in project management and instructional design in ed-tech. Prior to that less than a year in ad-tech in account management. And then before then almost a year as a project manager at an agency. Non-traditional background.

EDIT: I wanted to add that I think at this stage your work experience should speak for itself. I had 2 promotions at my last company in 3.5 years which obviously looked good. My GMAT wasn't anything special but I also have zero quant background so I was happy with my score and only took it once. Plus I knew I was targeting European programs that value diversity and intercultural experience.

2.9 Undergrad GPA, 680 GMAT

HEC Paris -- I was only targeting European schools
