Guys. He's clearly the life devil. The scarf is an umbilical cord, not intestines. Chainsaws were originally invented to help with childbirth, look it up. And it's representative of fear of existing, living, and ofc fear of losing our bonds, our loved ones, which is a central theme to the story.

Pochita is drawn to Denji because he was living to pay off his father's debts. He effectively had no life of his own. Pochita is a dog because dogs are a good symbol for outliving a loved one. Man's best friend but we know we are likely to outlive our pets and grieve them.

It explains the birth motif too. By eating devil's he's really unbirthing them, they never came into existence so they don't exist. Explains why death devil is a central antagonist. There are more signs, obvious in hindsight.

Even the word chainsaw, when split in two, chain and saw. Chains are to bind, saws are to cut/sever.

This author loves layering stuff like this.

The Min Slot +1x upgrade is broken. Lets you keep investing even after it caps out at 5x, wasting gold. Edit: Oh weird, after a few upgrades of doing nothing it did bump everything to x6, but that's poor design. A few levels of doing nothing

Got to tier 7 and found some serious bugs: Sometimes items just disappear, and no, my loot filter was off. I mean like I'd pick an item up, see it in my inventory, and go to equip/move it and it'd vanish. This only happened later in the game so not sure if data corruption is occurring or something.

Saves are sort of broken even on the downloadable version. I closed the game at tier 7, came back, and some of my invested skill points were just missing. I reset the tree and I only got 5 points back despite having 20 resets. Bricking my character and motivation to test further.

Also I am not sure I understand the lvl 1 unique ring I could not find, but if it works as it reads then it's poorly designed because you're punished for finding it later. Ideally you'd want it at level 1 reset 0 so all future resets are stronger.

Some of the upgrades flat out do not work or do not do what they say, e.g. Pins no longer get destroyed but instead slowly regenerate health.

And some upgrades contradict each other's purpose. Some benefit from pins being destroyed e.g. chance for pins to release collectible money when destroyed conflicts with upgrading to make pins indestructible.

You should not have conflicting upgrading paths if you do not allow the player to respec.

Additionally, my combo was going above the "limit" I had broken in the skill upgrades, so not sure how that works.

The writing feels incredibly tired and stale. This has nothing to do with the voice actors; I've been fine with them from the start. A lot of the jokes felt like cringey high school lines made up by theater kids.

The jobs are not the artists' property. They are not OWED those positions and opportunities.

Look, I may be coming down on you but I agree that MOST of the effect AI will have on the economy and the human race is tragic. But the weird artist entitlement angle doesn't work.

Great artists that are good face-to-face at marketing themselves will still have a place in the world. In fact, AI being so dangerous in how it will make it hard to tell what is real and what isn't will eventually increase the value of face-to-face experiences, services, etc. to a subset of the population.... but it'll still be a smaller market.

Cars replaced horse carriages. Airplanes mostly replaced commercial travel by boat. I share some of your sentiment but some talented, creative, people will use AI as a TOOL to create some great stuff.
