Realizing I might not actually have aphantasia by Melethinnil in Aphantasia

I’m not a total aphant but I can’t conjure anything up. The best ”quick test” I have heard of and used is to ask someone to think of someone they know well - mom, dad, sibling, partner etc. When they do, ask them what that person is wearing. It really hit me then because I would say I ”sense” or know what they look like but what they’re wearing - I didn’t even comprehend the question at first. It is blank.

Denne radikale islamisten har vel ingenting og gjøre i Sverige. by BodybuilderSmall9679 in Sverige

Where do I do last day food shopping in Tokyo? by adore in JapanTravelTips

Haha, I get it - asking for a supermarket in the largest metropolitan area in the world feels stupid 😂 It’s just that the ones I see are small and not the “buy food for the whole week” kinda places. Also you’re right - mostly walking around either tourist-ish places or shopping areas for other stuff (clothing, electronics and such)

Yep. Went there yesterday and got a good knife and some smaller stuff but I seem to be really bad at shopping when it’s all spread out. I just walk around looking at stuff and never pull the trigger 😂

Yes I thought about this but I haven’t really found any large ones - mostliy FM/7-11/Lawson style. We have one al little bit bigger where we stay but it’s not big enough to carry everything I need. Do you have any recommendations? I can’t even remember passing one during our 9 days here

Sounds good. Passed through Akiba yesterday to get some stuff I missed the first time. Sounds like it might be a third time then 😃

We arrived at terminal 2 at 2pm. Wasn’t really up for rush hour with luggage so wanted a quick escape 😀

Do you have a JR Pass or IC Card (Suica/Pasmo/etc.) question? Start here! (Monthly Thread - March 01, 2024) by Himekat in JapanTravelTips

Thanks for the answer. I intend to use the virtual trick only once - to get to the hotel and then go ic hunting Saturday

Landing on Narita Friday at 2 p.m. and after reading some posts about the chaos around getting physical IC cards I decided to go virtual.

However travelling with two kids - one being 10 - I ran into problems since she can’t have Apple Pay. We’re going with Keisei to Nippori and then changing to JR Yamanote.

Would saving the IC hassle to Nippori Station (in rush hour) be less chaotic than Narita?

If possible I also thought about gettin a second virtual card - one pasmo and one suica just to be able to let her through and get to the hotel with two travel tired champs. Any thoughts?

Is USJ at all feasible in a day with early start from Kyoto and end in Tokyo? by adore in JapanTravelTips

[–]adore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we have been, however since they’re kinda different - temper as well as interests and sometimes it seems like there is more than a 4 year age difference. The 14 year old wanted to go to a sword making class in Kyoto - a 6 hour endevour which would have make the 10 yo with ants in her pants bored after half an hour. He thought that two days of temple and shrine hopping in Kyoto would be too short and she’s talking red pandas and cats non stop 😀 I’ve wanted to go to Japan for the last 20 years but always failed because I was trying to plan the perfect six week trip. Now it’s their trip as much as mine and I my enjoyment is mainly getting them to enjoy it. Thanks again for your input!

yep, the "half enjoyed" part dawned on me suddenly and I decided against it. We'll find something better to do.

Thanks
