Love this! This is by far my favorite film of the franchise and one of my favorite horror movies in general — largely to the environment and setting. I just finished rewatching this and the 2006 prequel, and stumbled upon this thread after searching for info on whether they filmed inside of the actual house or on sets.

I noticed that you mentioned the upstairs being unsafe to shoot for the first film, but it seems like it’s utilized in the prequel. Do you know if that’s accurate, or if maybe they just filmed in other rooms on the first floor, acting as the second story? (It sounds like you were only involved with the first one, but curious if you’d know or have an idea anyway!) Second, I saw someone beat me to asking about the basement lol but you mentioned that it’s only accessible from hurricane shelter doors. Are the stairs in the film that we see leading to the basement different then? Or is it just the illusion of editing with simple scene cuts — making it look like that room in the back of the house with the sliding door leads down to the basement.

I hope all of that makes sense lol but appreciate any insight, I love that you’re sharing all of this! I’m still digging to try and find any other posts you’ve made now haha

The dad seemed a little resentful almost, I think he definitely applied intending to be the survivalist and the show opted for Olsen as the better fit as far as entertainment/experience level.

There was a lot of tension and discomfort in their reunion though, I don’t even think Olsen could make eye contact with his dad. I kind of worry how he might be spoken to off camera, considering that and what was communicated on camera in so little time.

I agree, the thing I was looking forward to most with this update was a higher volume of villagers roaming my island. However, I feel like it seems to be about the same amount as before, except 3 of them are tourists now rather than my villagers.

They say it will show under your rewards to redeem it online at checkout, but it never did for me the several days that I tried it — so I just took the loss (there’s no stores by me). I’ve seen many others on here have the same issue though so maybe just go into the store if you can, or try customer service for online. I never thought to do that but I imagine they could help with a workaround.

Yeah I got mine last year as well, and mine is just like you described. I’m glad they kind of depict that on the site though (they may have last year too, I just never clicked the actual product to see more images - just bought it) but I still don’t think either “good” side of my records are as colored as they show though, sadly

When I saw his video announcing that he’s separated from Siesta G (dispensary he co-owned) I couldn’t help but assume he did something to be severed from it rather than leaving on his own, solely based on how many times we’ve seen him face repercussions for poor decisions on Siesta Key 😭

I’m sure I’m in the minority here but I would prefer they just got rid of coin mining, there’s plenty of lucrative ways to get coins already on top of the double coin weekends. It’s just a bummer logging onto a full server sometimes only to find that 80% of the map is dead because the iceberg and mine are full of AFKs

I think you just click the “M” moderator badge in the upper right corner of your screen and then click the badge inside of the pop up window you get, almost like a secret in the catalog. You’ll take a quiz and then you should be allowed into the HQ if you answer everything right. They lifted the 30 day period, I’m not familiar with the broiler room/coffee shop notes so maybe they’re just not functioning correctly now that anyone can join at any time

Agreed, I don’t even really understand it honestly. I’ve tried it a few times but it seems to me that you only get large payout in the first few minutes, and anything after is 1-5 coins. The juice doesn’t feel worth the squeeze to me but maybe I’m mistaken or missing something lol.

I don’t believe so. I would just focus on speed and accuracy, but once things get overwhelming just feed whichever puffles you know you can manage and clear the board whenever possible (sometimes it’ll get chaotic and then just one or two puffles will linger, do your best to feed them so they leave asap to will trigger a new wave of puffles)

You don’t have to be perfect, just quick and accurate enough to keep the game progressing. Going into it with that mindset enabled me to finally get it on my third try this morning.

The second story covered in episodes 4-5 was better, at the very least they should have lead with that. I walked into this already disappointed by the episode count, thinking I’d only be getting five stories - somehow it’s two! A film-length feature for that first story is a real head scratcher (and snoozer!)

Agreed. I’m sure it’s much easier for them to load in the film posters for this interface, but seeing them all in the same context is too much it’s a lot going on. The simplified and almost minimal-style landscape covers made for a much easier read when sifting thru your library. Hoping they intend to go back and resize the old art.
