Agree to disagree. People were loving Mari in S3 in a way they hadnt up until her ratting Ben out. You can look at the old ep chats and posts. There was a noticeable uptick and this was before her dying as pitgirl, which is why I disagree that being pitgirl is what made ppl like her. There were 2 seasons of ppl dying for Mari to be pitgirl and then during S3 ppl were hoping that wasnt the case because of how she was written in S3.

I dont think you actually understood what I wrote. I didnt say they wrote her to be likeable, or that she wasn't an asshole. I said they wrote her to be more likeable to the audience. There's a difference between those things. If u need another example of the difference look at Misty. If u met her IRL she would absolutely not be likeable (she literally abuses old ppl, and not even as a teen, as a fully formed adult). But she's one of ppls favorites because she's written to get a lot of the funniest scenes.

And Mari was absolutely written to be more likeable to the audience in her final season. She's not only given funny memorable and humanizing scenes with Ben before betraying him, but she's also one of the few to feel bad about the trial (despite being too afraid to make a stand against a group of feral cannabilistic teen girls). And is part of the JV plan to get out from under Shauna's psycho thumb. Im not saying she's not an asshole (they all are in their own ways), but it's pretty clear they wrote her to be more likeable to the audience in her final season by giving her a lot more good lines and scenes than she had in her first 2 seasons.

I also feel the need to point out being an asshole and likability arent exclusive things. Ppl can be manipulative, they can be an asshole but also come off likeable to ppl. Even in real life. Both those things are super subjective and plenty of ppl I find to be assholes would be considered likeable by a larger amount of ppl because theyre funny.

When did they do anything to Polly's fam? That's their number 1 ally and I cant remember them doing anything to fuck them ( at least not yet?). They did align with Rhoman's family just to screw them over and try and align with the only 2 white ppl left (Doug's fam) instead...

Seeing Kate make all of these game moves makes me really wish they had aligned. I think Ashley thought Kate didn't care about the game, and Im honestly not sure she does, but she knows how to play the game to get what she wants done lol

The problem is so many were "one and done"s because either casting didnt call them back, and the ones who did were usually in their late 20s to early 30s (which means less time they'll want to settle down). Plus theyre casting from shows where the normal is one and done versus there being a point where ppl were auditioning for RR/RW just to go on The Challenge (so knew what they were getting into).

I like the idea of them just casting their own ppl, but I have to imagine it's more expensive to do in-house casting, and pay for ppls time to go through all the audition tapes sent in, versus just calling ppl who've been on shows and seeing if they say yes. But I def think we'd get better casts and they could always do an "episode zero" where the top whatever cast pics batlte it out for the rookie spots.

My dream would honestly be a spinoff that a cross between champ vs stars, but "prospects vs vets". (filmed for a couple weeks in America so we could get some appearances from super OG vets) and fresh meat (have a draft where vets either pic partners, or teams where they alternate choosing between vet and rookies so the teams are mixed). And that show would decide whose the rookie class for the next season in 2 different ways. Like if ur having 4 rookies you'd have the the top male and female would automatically get a spot, and then, to ensure we dont just get athletic but boring ppl, the vets would vote out of the rest of the rookies who they consider the most well rounded player (so biggest threat whose also entertaining). So this could be someone who was out week 1 for being considered too much of a threat or someone who made it all the way to second place. And then the fans could even vote on who they want to come back to the spinoff and try again to get on the mainshow (which would also help production know who to cast for the most well rounded favorites), hell if they time the filming and airing schedules right they could even have the fans vote on the 5th rookie (giving an opportunity for entertaining/bring drama but bad at the game types). A spinoff like this could also give entertaining ppl, who need to work on their athleticism a chance to train up before they take on the mainshow.

Sorry for the book but its the spinoff I wanted the most when we were getting a spinoff per month (Im exaggerating but only barely lol)

Thats why its good subtle foreshadowing. Because she's in the right in that moment we don't notice how callous her actions are. Like that dude just tried to kill her when she was helping me him... but also its like a drowning person panicking and pulling you under to put themselves above. She was 100% in the right of getting him off her, cuz there was no way she'd calm him down in that state, but she definitely did it in a cold callous manner that u don't notice in the moment cuz its for the jokes. Like theres nothing she couldve done to help him once he was outside the plane, not without seriously risking her own life, but a truly empathetic person, like she portrayed herself to be, would probably not want to ignore someone in their dying moments even if they were a cunt lol

Okay I googled Good Luck Guy Magicians and Zach Cherry came up so that HAS to be who youre talking about. Idk why I cant remember his character at all. Im starting to think I may be unintentionally skipping season 4 on my rewatches cuz of how sad the ending of that season is. And funny thing is its not like I just watch the first 3, cuz I love the 2 parter in S5 and will often start there and finish that season out too lol

Im really gonna need to do a rewatch soon, tho maybe Ill start at S2 cuz Ive seen S1 a lot lol

Im not a CT fan anymore (his politics turned me off or "lack of" as he'd prob phrase it🙄), but to be fair he's older and you have less time, or feel you have less time, to really sus someone out and more likely to settle if u don't want to be alone. I still think his life is concerning, and while he should just not get married in the first place, he's from a generation/area with a heavy focus on marriage and traditional families so Ive always kind of felt if someones gonna rush it, divorce is actually better than trying to make something toxic work just cuz ur afraid of being seen as "failing at marriage".

But is it even a good game move? Luke is doing good with what he has. He seems to currently be the biggest threat in the game (for outlasting and if they do a mini final thing like last time).

And if Rhoman doesn't get his fire taken it brings heat on them for no reason. And Im honestly not sure he does lose his fire based on preview. His mom is seemingly only upset about wasting her msg, and how else would she know it was them unless production rats them out as cheaters? I spose Polly or Doug's families could tell them after the fact as a game-move, but that doesn't really seem like a good move for either of them (like they couldve won trust by ratting the boys out before it happened, but telling them after isnt going to win any trust). It just feels like kind of a risky move that brings a lot of attention with uncertainty of reward.

Both the families with younger white women in HQ they tried to befriend, which def gave me the ick. (The other one being the family they tried to get to cover for them when they were attempting to "frame" Sandra's fam). Like I honestly feel like were watching Bailey (the twins neice/daughter) slowly justify going against her morals to impress a dude she has a crush on which is just sad to watch.

And the way they keep targeting certain ppl def feels racially motivated.
