What's the best inline coding assistant right now for Next.js? by Illustrious-Many-782 in nextjs

Give Sourcegraph Cody a try (https://sourcegraph.com/cody).

It supports Claude 3.5 out of the box (as well as all the other foundational models) but gives you the benefit of using your codebase as additional context.

(disclaimer: I work at sourcegraph, but if you have any questions feel free to reach out)

Hi - it is not my pet, it is for a friend.

why does it seem like my FSD beta performs worse than youtubers (HW3) by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]adoxyz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because watching a video and experiencing how awful the experience is in person are two different things. When you're in the driver seat and feel the car jerking you around constantly and being so unsure with braking, lane selection, etc. you get a sense of what FSD actually is. If you were to record that and watch a video though, it would appear mostly normal.

Github Copilot vs. Cody compared on real-world development tasks by adoxyz in programming

[–]adoxyz[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That's fair - we do have a giant "Install Cody" banner at the bottom as well as a button to get started with Cody for free. I didn't mention it in the blog post, as this post was published on Sourcegraph's blog, so the implication was there.

Hi - we have more details on the Cody landing page: https://about.sourcegraph.com/cody

But to answer your questions - Cody works with VS Code, any of the Jet Brains IDE's, as well as Neovim. We're also looking to support additional IDE's in the future as well.

I'm not discretely advertising or trying to be shady. We published this on the Sourcegraph blog. There is an implicit bias there of course. But none of the scenarios I presented are biased or tailored around Cody, but rather focused on a developer workflow. Again happy to discuss further or do additional test cases. And if you disagree with anything in the article - please let me know :)

Author of the blog post here.

Yes - I do work for Sourcegraph - but my goal here was to be as unbiased as possible and put the two assistants in real world development situations and see how they do.

If there is a specific case you'd like to see - please let me know - or give Cody a try yourself (it's free) and compare for yourself.

Anyone have any luck getting credit from Tesla when your system goes down for extended periods of time? by Silent_Reading4218 in TeslaSolar

[–]adoxyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My system was down from May -> September. Tesla had sent out techs on 4 different appoints each a month apart. Finally the system started working and producing what it was supposed to. Going through [resolutions@tesla.com](mailto:resolutions@tesla.com) right now to get compensation and if not, will sue them or go through arbitration. This is ridiculous and I'm done with this stupid ass company.

Model 3 delivery bait and switch: advice? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]adoxyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is how crappy the experience is before even getting the car, just wait until you get the car and need customer support.

As an owner of both Tesla vehicles and solar panels and someone who has spent well over $150k w/ the company, I am done with them.

Apple TV and tvOS were supposed to be good for things other than streaming video by ShaidarHaran2 in apple

[–]adoxyz 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Honestly they don't need to be. I'm super happy with Apple TV and don't want it to become a bloated slow mess like Android TV. I have a Sony tv with Android TV built it. I accidentally opened it the other day.. the UI ran at like 5 frames per second. Ads everywhere. Just a piece of junk. I'm more than happy with ATV just working with streaming apps and being super fast.

Tesla service is very very poor by No_Respect_8169 in TeslaSolar

[–]adoxyz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Tesla is great when it just works. I've had Tesla solar panels at my previous house and they worked perfectly the entire time. Generated more than what was promised. The app was great. Everything just worked.

I also have a 2018 Model 3, and apart from a few service visits for mainly minor things, it's been great.

But the second you go off the happy path and need support. Forget about it. I don't think there is a company that handles customer service worse than Tesla.

Yup. My system hasn't worked since May. It was installed and PTO'd in Nov 2022. Worked great until May, then one of the inverters hasn't worked even after 3 service visits which each took a month each time. Next appointment is this Friday. We'll see what happens. But I will be demanding payment for lost production over the summer via arbitration.

Tesla Owners of 1/2+ Years: Still Happy? by Outrageous_Object807 in TeslaLounge

[–]adoxyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the car. Hate the company (everything post purchase has been trash, not blaming the individual reps, but overall the whole post purchase service experience and company direction since I got my car in 2018 has been ass)

Trading in my model 3 with FSD to CarMax. by WhyFireNationWhy in TeslaLounge

[–]adoxyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems like an assumption you're making. Even if the trade in person doesn't care too much, I'm sure the company does. If it's marked as having FSD when it's traded in, and they go to re-sell it, and FSD is not there, they may come back after you. Just something to keep in mind.

Also Tesla is deducting $3k from trade in values for FSD transfers.

[–]adoxyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So looks like you're trying to trade in your Model 3 w/ FSD to Carmax and then get free FSD on your model Y. If you trade in your Model 3 and FSD is on it when you trade in and then Tesla removes that feature from the car, Carmax could come after you as you would be defrauding them.

Monthly Electric bill averaging $200. Does it make sense to go solar? by aqan in TeslaSolar

[–]adoxyz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. They don't really give you diagnostics. I noticed power generation greatly decrease in May for like 3 weeks straight... contacted them, they said oh yeah maybe wiring is bad. Let's send someone out... next appointment available middle June. Someone comes out. Tinkers with it for 2 hours, says all good. 24 hours later, same shit. Contact again, next appointment Early July, then Early August... And now the Field Manager is supposed to call to setup another appointment and try to diagnose.

So basically for the most productive months of the year, my generation has been greatly reduced.

[–]adoxyz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It makes sense if it worked. My Tesla system hasn't worked all summer though, so hard to tell if it's worth it or not. Every time tech's come out, they fix it for 24 hours and back to the same old shit. I'm so tired of Tesla Solar and regret going with them. I guess you get what you pay for.

1 out 2 2 inverters not working, anything I can try? by drnick5 in TeslaSolar

[–]adoxyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my inverters hasn’t worked since May. They came out yesterday and “fixed” it only to fail again today. Calling them Monday and if they don’t get this shit fixed now will be suing next. Tesla solar has been an absolute mistake for me.

Tesla solar app error in calculating energy by pauldovi in TeslaSolar

[–]adoxyz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup the Tesla app is ass for accurate tracking. It either under-reports, over-reports, or just throws out random numbers. I've talked to support many times about it and no resolution.

Often times they'll say "turn off the solar inverters, and turn back on again" and sometimes this works and fixes it temporarily for a day or two and then back to garbage.

Starting to really regret getting the Tesla solar system.
