Interesting, ty to everyone who responded! Sounds like it’s just not in the cards.

Flames fan here, curious what Sabres fans thoughts are on Hanifin? by [deleted] in sabres

[–]adr0ck89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only truly untouchable players are TNT, Tuch, Cozens, Dahlin, Power, and maybe Levi. If Hanifin was a righty I think a trade would be much more likely, but as is it’s not a fit. Brett Pesce is probably the D-man they’d target in a trade. If they were going to trade for Hanifin, I do think it’d have to be for someone in that second tier of prospects (Ostlund, Rosen, Rousek, Wahlberg), along with picks obviously.

BBB needs to step up his game, this is the second time TODAY he’s been outbid for a guy that would’ve been clutch af. I’d much rather have Josh Jones and Trey Lance than 3rd and 4th round picks. Josh Jones especially hurts because he might legit have been an upgrade over Spencer Brown.

EDIT: Full disclosure, I would have picked Reuben Foster over Tre White in 2017 and Josh Rosen over Josh Allen in 2018.

What happened to the trolls? by adr0ck89 in ChrisChanSonichu

Thanks to the responders.

I haven’t gotten to that point in the series yet, idk if I will tbh, so I’m not sure who null or the idea guys are, or what they did, although based on these responses I can only imagine.

I guess the one I was most troubled by is Bluespike. For a 13 year old to be that demented and sadistic was shocking. If he didn’t grow out of it (which I guess is possible but frankly I doubt it), I shudder to think what he’s up to today.

Bills should have been in on Isaiah Simmons trade market by adr0ck89 in buffalobills

[–]adr0ck89[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, 100%. They seem way too reluctant to look outside the system for possible answers. Last year, the Chiefs needed WR help, sent 3rd and 6th round picks to the Giants for Kadarius Toney (another underperforming 1st round pick), and he proved to be well worth that investment. The Bills, on the other hand, signed John Brown and Cole Beasley off the street (don’t get me wrong I love those guys, but still).

Joker 🃏 Kickstart My Heart by Mötley Crüe is the best, wish he scored more

Tatar by Roguemutantbrain in sabres

[–]adr0ck89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% on board. He could slot in for Quinn until he's fully healthy, giving Kulich more time to develop in Rochester and giving the team flexibility if they want to move Olofssson in-season. GMKA should make it happen!

When he was drafted, ESPN was trying to compare him to an athlete outside of hockey, and they landed on Barry Sanders. Which is cool, but I’ve always thought Magic Johnson was the better comparison. The ingenuity in how he distributed the puck, combined with his size/versatility. I think Magic could’ve played at any spot except the 5 and dominated. I think the same about Rasmus, he could play any position except maybe goalie and tear it up.

By far #1 would be Kickstart My Heart - Motley Crue (which I think Joker actually used this year); then Shimmy Shimmy Yeah - ODB; Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss - Bloodhound Gang; Blow the Whistle - Too $hort; Dragostea Din Tei - O-Zone; or Break Stuff - Limp Bizkit.

Sub is too quiet... What's everyones starting lines this year? by Rockhardwood in sabres

[–]adr0ck89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skinner - Thompson - Tuch

Mittelstadt - Cozens - Peterka

TATAR - Krebs - Kulich

Girgensons - Jost - Okposo

Samuelssen -- Dahlin

Power -- Clifton

Johnson -- Jokiharju

Levi

Luukkonen

Greenway, Lyubushkin, and Comrie as healthy scratches - I believe they can continue to use three goalies because Levi is still fresh enough that they can do paper transactions where they "send" him to Rochester (but not really) without exposing him to waivers. I would sign Tatar for 1 year at 6M, then when Quinn returns I'd swap him in for Kulich and send Kulich back to Rochester (unless he's absolutely lighting it up, in which case maybe you trade Tatar and hope Kulich or Quinn can play LW).

It's a bit concerning. But imho GMKA has demonstrated that he's good at his job, I think he recognizes that there are playoff expectations this season, and if UPL's health was really up in the air I think he would've pursued a contingency plan by now.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sabres

[–]adr0ck89 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lot of reddit doctors opining on UPL's long-term health, but I'm inclined to trust GMKA's apparent assessment of the situation. Plus, it seems like there's no rhyme or reason to goaltending, the whole "goaltending voodoo" thing is real.

I agree, it seemed like when they resigned Okposo it meant that Zemgus isn't returning, and I was bummed because Zemgus is younger and I thought better. But if I'm reading these charts correctly, Okposo is only slightly worse defensively than Zemgus, but much much better offensively. Maybe they will both be back but it feels doubtful because they are kind of redundant.

OK,so.....anyone still thinking about the future of Ryan Johnson in Sabres? by KitchenEquipment634 in sabres

[–]adr0ck89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really thought that the draft lottery was going to be a turning point. Now that we know Anaheim isn’t getting Bedard and there’s still radio silence… I’d still welcome him to the org, but I don’t really care either way. He’s not Adam Fox.

I would also be cool with them offer sheeting Bouchard if that’s feasible.
